|front desk reception was horrible very rude and impatient made me feel unwelcome like they did not want my business bartender was the best I have seen extremely nice friendly and helpfull. He took responsibilty and apologize for the rest of the staff won't bowl there again but would stop by the bar for a few drinks again real soon|

|Absolutely, positively do not comprehend the negative comments on this center. Staff is very courteous - in particular, a gentleman in their pro shop who helped me select/purchase a bowling ball several months ago was VERY helpful - and they are NOT "pricy". They have weekday after school discounts on open bowling, and DEFINITELY sign up for their e-mail list, you get $1.49/game coupons and other specials e-mailed to you weekly. Even if tenpin lanes in the area were as plentiful as they were a couple decades ago, this would still be my tenpin house of choice. |

|@ Bob - Frameworx isn't that old, considering what else is out on the market. The ONLY step up is to Vector, which I have yet to see in any bowling center I've been to.
Besides, isn't using an "outdated scoring system" as a reason to not bowl somewhere, kind of lame? As far as I know, everyone else around (on the ten pin side of things) uses Frameworx as well. If you want to go bowl candle pin, then Leda up in Nashua uses an AMF/Quibca rip off of Vector, over in their "lighthouse" aka their glow bowling center. Other than that, you're looking at manual scoring.|

|As a recent patron to bz lowell, such a shame to see all the negitive feedback. My experience was nothing but great!! Maybe if people just went to enjoy themselves and not be so critical, then they would also have a pleasant experience|

|I've recently visited Brunswick Zone Lowell, although a very busy place the atmosphere is very welcoming. I expected it to be your typical public recreaton place and much to my surprise it was very warm and friendly. I was looking for something to do with my children while another child attended a concert in town and all the staff was more than willing to allow us to wait there. We bowled, ate, played some arcade games. One in employee stood out, as I saw her in a couple locations in the center she always asked how we were doing and smiled. What an enjoyable experience and if ever back in Lowell I will return|

|Loved the bowling had a lot of fun, but everytime I go to the snack bar to order food I am treated rudely by brown haired woman 37ish. She must hate her job, don't ask for service, she yells at you. And they wonder why we want to bring our own food in. |

|the staff was rude the lanes bowled like a lawn and the place was dirty,pricy and has an outdated scoring system. i will never bowl there again. |

|iagree with the staff concerning,machine problems.it costs a lot of money to keep them running.you want new machines,they're nice,but remember,any type of machine will break down.i've worked on both,amf & brunswick.in 30 years,anything can happen on any given day|

|Having worked at a bowling center at the control desk and out back on the machines, "the pinsetters keep breaking down" in the most common complaint I've heard. Most centers have pin machines that are at least 30 to 40 years old, if not older, my center is no exception. If Joe Average Bowler actually got a chance to see how some of these machines operated, all the parts involved to setup a full rack, respot a spare, they *might* get a better understanding of how what's going on. Let's put things into perspective, these machines have to survive countless cycles. They have to withstand the guys that throw their ball 22-28 mph, as well as your grandmother who throws it 6 mph. Pins do not just go straight back and into the pit, these things (as I'm sure you've all seen) go everywhere. The tables and mostly the respot cells (the gripper that picks up the pin and puts it down) take a lot of abuse. You might only think that breakdowns happen during league, they happen at anytime.
Bowling alleys survive on making sure that you have a good time and come back. Thus, they all have to make sure that fix broken equipment as soon as possible. Just remember, these are machines, like an elevator, an escalator, or a garage door opener. Just because they work all the time correctly does not mean that something will eventually break due to wear and tear. It just means that they break down at the most inopportune time.|

|(to "Bowler4Ever") There is no such thing as a Brunswick JetBack, they were Brunswick A2s then, and they are now. Where it said JetBack (or now A2) is simply a thick, replaceable sticker.
And you're saying that pins are getting jammed (which is called an "out-of-range") which will happen on any pinsetter, when a pin slides from where it's suppose to be? Okay, we're sorry that we spent thousands of dollars on over one-thousand brand new pins, that SLIDE because they're new.
As for the scorers freezing, ANY computer will freeze, whether we like it or not. In the following years, we expect changes to be made, and we will not have to worry about that any longer.
And do you have any clue WHY the intercoms work only half the time now? Lets think about all the damage that you youth bowlers do to the consoles, by hitting it and such, and thus snapping the wires inside. (Yes, I know who you are, but I won't say your name. =))
Oh, and a minor correction...We did not flood last year (or THIS year for that matter) because the river crossed the street, not originally any way. The bowling center is built feet below street level, so when the water on the street behind the building had no drains to go in to, it came in to the building.|

|Well, I've been bowling at the Brunswick Zone in my area for 10 years now. I've bowled on their very nice Brunswick JetBacks, wood lanes, and Brunswick 2000 scorers. In 2002, they changed to synthetic lanes & approaches and changed to the Frameworx scorers, as well as new masking units. In May 2006, the place was gone when 10 inches of rain fell...causing the river across the street to overflow it banks and settle inside the bowling center. 4 feet of water covered the lanes. It took them several days and hundreds of fans to dry off all 44 lanes for removal and replacement. Of course, the pinsetters needed a lot of work, as well. So, after over 3 months of work, Brunswick reopened on September 1. The JetBacks were now converted A2's, same Frameworx scoring, and the synthetic lanes had a lot of bounce (they still do). Well, the "painsetters" are breaking down more often, as in the deck gets jammed and the pins come toppling down, 180 calls increased dramatically, and the scorers constantly freeze up! My friend and I were going to leave there and go to another center nearby...but it's closing its doors! So, we're stuck at Brunswick. Also, their intercom system's still crappy. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Trust me, it's a pain bowling there, but there have been more things going on in there that I haven't even mentioned yet.

With 44 lanes, of course we're bound to have breakdowns. Unfortunately nothing is perfect in this world, and that means that any pinsetter will have a stop at one point or another.
Now let me ask you, how many times have you had a lane break down, and our staff not be able to fix it in a timely fashion, or accomodate you in some other way?
We are very caring about our league bowlers, unlike some other local centers, and we do our best to keep you happy.|
