|Recently went here b/c the other newer center was full. Staff at other center were very polite and helpful when I asked to suggest another center in the area b/c they were full. You'd think they'd be like, there's no where else. But no, they were awesome.
Only thing is... once we got to Stanton it took us 10 minutes to get waited on when we walked in the door. Then our lane kept breaking. We were there for 2 hours and barely got in 1 game. Disappointed. :(|

Staff are generally nice people. There are a few that I noticed to be somewhat lazy and unaware of what's going on around them. The place is old and needs a major renovation or at least a good scrubbing. I give it a 4 out of 10

|Here is a great Internet article about Stanton Lanes.
Stanton Lanes: A Good Place to Bowl
Published September 13, 2010
Something for Everyone
Good Reputation in the Community
Generally, the bowling alley has a good reputation in the community. The staff is willing to listen to the customers and to make every effort to satisfy there requirements. They have spent a great deal of money in recent years in remodeling and cleaning up the place. Stanton Lanes probably has the best value for league bowlers. League bowlers receive free open bowling, free buffet during the Christmas Season, high games awards, VIP Cards, and excellent customer service.
The lanes have several interesting special events. They offer everything from laser-lights with the latest music, to relaxed family friendly environments that parents can take their children to. They offer a variety of specials for almost every type of party. This includes birthday, group, teen, and build your own parties. They also do fundraisers.
A Great Place for Recreation and Socializing
Stanton Lanes in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania has been an institutional icon for as long as I can remember. They have something for just about everyone as the list of bowling leagues that are available demonstrates. The list is available on there web cite. When my father, who is now deceased, became a senior citizen he needed a new form of recreation. Bowling at Stanton Lanes was the answer as he joined a bowling league there. He bowled every Friday night with his friends and then they went out socially. He really enjoined this and this was the focal point of his social life for over a decade. He even received some awards and trophies there. As a matter of fact, he only gave it up when he became too sick to continue.
Learning How To Share
I learned some important lessons about life there. One Saturday morning my friend Andrew wanted to go bowling but he did not have any money. So Andrew my friend Leo and I went bowling at Stanton Lanes. Since Andrew did not have any money he could not bowl so he kept score for us. In those day keeping score manually was essential as this was the only way one could know, what frame one was bowling in, the score of the game and how many games had been played. There were no computers to keep score for the bowlers. So Andrew provided a very valuable service for us, and we all had a great time that day. When I got home I told my mother about my bowling experience and she asked me one very important question. She wanted to know if I let my friend Andrew do any bowling for me. Of course, I did not even think of this and I never asked Andrew to throw a few balls for me. I was never so embarrassed in my life!
I tried to learn from this, however. A couple of weeks later I was at Stanton Lanes and I was just sitting around and watching. I bought a package of peanut butter cups, that had two peanut butter cups in each package. An acquaintance of mine asked me for a piece of candy. He thought I would just break a piece off and give it to him. Instead, I gave him a whole peanut butter cup and he was very happy about it. I had learned my lesson and learned how to share.

Thank you web administrator for your suggestion. I chose to make a phone call to management instead. The day I was there I couldn't find a staff member who had time to help us as they were rushing quite a bit. I called and was put on hold indefinitely. Very frustrating! I will speak to my husband to see if we really want to get into it more. However, I do THANK YOU for your attempt to correct this problem.

Recently had a party here because the newer center was totally booked on the date I wanted. Well, now after going here I can see why they had the availability on such short notice. While the staff was polite, there weren't nearly enough of them on. The lanes kept breaking down and we spent a lot of time for our bowling party just siting. Might be a lot cheaper in price than other centers in the area but you can see why.

I recently visited Stanton Lanes for the first time in about 5 years. The place looks great with all of the remodeling and changes. The staff looked great in the uniforms and are a big help with any problems we had. We will be back. And the prices are great, specials every night of the week.

I have bowled in the area for many years and have to say that Stanton Lanes is GREAT. They take the time to listen to you and have spent a great deal of money over the lst five to six years in cleaning up the place and making it fun for everyone. And as a league bowler I can tell you that Stanton Lanes gives you more for your money then all of the bowling alleys. If you league bowl at Stanton Lanes you get Free Open Bowling, Free Buffet at Christmas, High Game Awards, VIP Cards and again get customer service. And let's not forget the great programs they have for open bowling, birthday parties and other events. So for anyone who thinks the place down the road is better, remember the owner just got arrested for filling false tax returns and is going to jail. So they might not even be around any more, I heard they may have to close due to the back taxes that is owed.

I am an avid league bowler but also spend a lot of time bowling with the family. Not my favorite place. Staff were friendly enough but the specials, food, and cleanliness don't compare with nearest competitor! Having been to several local centers, this definitely isn't the WORST place to go but if you can hit up the family center nearby it's probably more worth it.

Recently visited with friends. Nearest competitor was operating on a 2 hour wait (which kind of made us want to stay there if it was THAT popular) but some friends didn't want to wait. ... Wish that we had! The staff was friendly but all over the place. Service was typically slow. Ran a lot of specials but atmosphere not really 100%. Overall ok experience.

The prices are low, and they seem to run a lot of specials. However, the atmosphere and the environment itself are dingy and dirty. Often the staff are assigned to doing too many tasks at once and customers get temporarily ignored. It's an okay place if you're on a budget. But if you have the money to go somewhere a little higher priced, it's definitely worth it.

I went in last week and while the remodeling is not finished I enjoyed myself. The people at the desk were friendly.

I thouht me's comment kind of strange. They have wood approaches which are very consistent and they're scores, while not being as high as the nearest compepitor who dead walls thier lanes and has a reputation for playing with the flat gutters, are really great. I guess we all have different opinions.

I have gone there several times and while the machines are older the staff is very friendly and I will go back soon. Last time I was in they were remodling so that is good news.

this house is strange. Approach is inconsistant and the shot is not suited to a reactive resign coverstock
