They are open and the people I have dealt with are pretty nice. We will see how my son's birthday party goes.

Management needs to teach front desk people the concept of customer service. They have no clue. Hope with the reopening of the facility, they have a new look on how to treat customers.

On March 23 the lanes are abandoned, a sign on the door says "building condemned." Yikes. I am not making this up.

I am sorry that so many people have put in a bad word about BAFC as I have dedicated much time there on Saturday mornings helping with the kid's league and feel at least the coaching staff, many of who volunteer their time there, are top notch.

I turned around in their parking lot and the sign said closed. It says the building is unsafe. The place was never great and now I guess it is the end of it. Good riddance I suppose. There were some good people working there in '03-'04 but they're long gone now I guess.

I hope no one in my league (Thursday nights) finds out about the romantic relationship I have with both of my teamates. Bowl America is AWESOME!

Bring a gas mask. You can cut the smoke with a serrated knife.

|My husband and friends bowl there weekly.
The place reeks of smoke. One needs a gas mask to go in there. I have complained to the staff but they rudely dismiss concerns. Any advice on who to complain to?
The smoke at that joint is a public health menace.|

I agree with most of the comments posted here. They seem to think that only league bowlers are important. If you are a working person and can only bowl on weeknights or weekends you're just out of luck here. I have chosen to bowl at other local centers that realize that there are people who want to bowl for the fun of it. I try to choose a center based on lane availability and atmosphere. Unless you're on a league don't bother wasting your time!

At this very moment, I've been on hold for over 10 minutes with this place - I'm only calling to find out if there are lanes available today (Saturday afternoon) so that I may bring my 8 year old daughter, Britney, bowling today. In light of the fact that the rude woman has left me on hold for over 10 minutes combined with all of the "pleasant" comments I'm reading on this web page while I wait, thanks for the tips: WE WILL SKIP BOWLING @ FALLS CHURCH BOWLAMERICA!! They don't deserve to see my daughter's smiling face today!!

The Staff is rude and short. I took a date there and asked at the desk how much was a lane. I'm not kidding here, the reply from the attendant was "How much you got?". This place has also always been infamous for being an EVERY NIGHT IS LEAGUE NIGHT type of joint. Not a good place for kids or people expecting a "pleasant" experience.

My son became enamored with bowling when he was just past 4-years-old. Since he was small, one of his rolls stopped in the lane. We buzzed for assistance, almost 10 minutes went by (it wasn't busy)when one of our neighboring lane bowlers (not us) walked down between the lanes and moved the ball. Then the attendant came and yelled at my 4-year-old son and made him cry. We now bowl at the Annandale bowling alley. Cleaner, nicer people. I agree with all the comments. It is like they are annoyed that people want to bowl in Falls Church.

The comments about the staff are on the money... when you go in you feel like bringing your business just ruined their day. BUT once you get by that, the lanes were average to good. Not the best; you won't get your best scores here, but not so bad that you feel cheated every roll. And after all, you don't go for the staff. I go here because it's the most convenient. If there was any competition nearby, I'd be gone in a second.

Bowl America is the (expletive deleted) place around. They have teenagers who would rather be getting drunk instead of working there. The place is like an old movie because they would never care to clean the place up so we have to be in it...... fun, huh!

I just had a very bad experience there...two nights ago I had a great one, but the man who was running the place tonight was rude, arrogant, and short. I think he even overcharged us but he made up excuses that I couldn't really argue with. We were polite and even tried to help him when we thought something was burning in our machine so that they could repair it, but they made us wait while inspecting and were rude about the whole thing, we were trying to help them so that the building didn't burn down. Sigh, not going back there again.

Bowl America rocks. If you love white trash, bad attitudes, people that smoke near kids, crappy beer, and the worst service ever (I am pretty sure they only employ ex-cons) then Bowl America is the place for you. I love it!

|My family and I tried to make arrangements to bowl on a week night at the Bowl America Orate in Falls Church, VA.
First of all the man who answered the phone was very rude and short with me. I ask him which night would be good for a family to come. He said NO night. That the leagues have all the lanes. To someone who lives in a small community with children that doesn't seem fair. There should be at least one night during the week that families can take their kids bowling. The weekends are filled with people drinking, smoking and using bad language.
Why have a bowl America in the community if the community can't use it?
I am very disappointed and will let it be known to all my friends with children. I know some of my friends had their children's birthday parties there. So you Bowl America is saying to us with kids that we are only allowed to come in during a child's birthday party?
