It is absolutely wonderful to see Dan Cross back drilling balls and I hear he is bowling on a leauge again, It has been LONG overdue. I hope to see him there on a permanent basis again. He would always make the customers feel like family as did his father and mother.

I have to agree with my brother. This family has gone through a lot, but we got past it. We are friendly to one another once again. My father would love to drill a ball using the machine his father had used. He is not jobless anymore and living a happy life with his girlfriend back from the 70's. I miss my grandparents at the bowling alley, but they will always be in my heart as long as I'm there.

I would like to say to all that are wondering that it seems as if the inter-family relations of the Cross family are doing real well. Dan is able to to go into once again the bowling center his father, Chet Cross built from the ground. His daughter is now an employee of the center. Everybody is talking to everyone again. To those that are curious, recently, Dan had been asked by Ted to drill a few balls for him. I am glad to see that things are going towards peace. As it was the motto of one of the most important figureheads of the late 60's and early 70's, it is also the same motto of mine. All you need is love.

Frequent bowler your lucky to have a bowling center in your town. All the other centers in the hub are gone.Hudson lanes of 30.The elks club which only had 4 lanes but gone. The lanes in Lebanon of 16 lanes. The bowler's club of 50.ABC lanes also had 50 lanes its gone.If I can remember there was also was another on central ave.in Albany. How can a bowling center pay its bills when league bowlers want shorter seasons? It want from 36 weeks to 32 now some are down to 28 weeks. Many bowler would bowl in two or three leagues. Some would bowl in the second shift if they had a longer drive. There is not any more second shifts because of the way bowling dropped! Most bowler now are in one league.Bowling in the summer is dead.No one want to be inside on nice days. And on Sat. and Sunday in the summer its real dead.It takes lots of money to keep a center running.I don't care if its Chatham or any other bowling center.L@@K at the cost of fuel!Lights!Insurance!phone!parts for the machines!etc.etc.I almost forgot about land taxes.w@w and school taxes!

People come to Chatham Bowl for the non electronic scoring. And plus, this is the closest bowling center in Columbia County and provide a fun place for the whole family.People who want electronic scoring are just too lazy to do a little math. I'm sorry but there were some family issues, and my dad doesnt work at Chatham. Everything is going up, its not just the games here. Theres something called taxes and not everybody likes them. To pay for customers to use our area, we use the admission of $5 a game per person. With the money from the customers purchasing a game, it helps us keep the place up and running. Everything is not always going to be perfect. Us employees at Chatham Bowl try to make sure the customers are happy. I'm glad that you love and support Chatham Bowl.

I love and support chatham bowl but for such an un-developed faculty it has too high of a price. It has now gone higher than the bowling centers with electronic scoring and has no pro shop

I rolled my first game ever at Chatham Bowl back when it was new and we had special deals for Saturday kids leagues during the mid-60s. Whether at the snack counter or the shoe counter Chet and Carol and Palmer really treated us well and made our first bowling experiences positive ones. I haven't been back to Chatham Bowl since the 1970s because I don't get back to town much, but it will always have good memories for me.

Yes, my dad was. And he misses drilling everyones balls. Im not sure if he was better than my grandfather, but its a family kinda thing that we all know, so it could be true. He is over at Redwood Lanes in Albany, NY. But he doesnt drill balls there.

Dan always would drill my bowling balls he was the best in the area. Most bowlers always said he was better than his father Chet.Chet was the best in the area he had them from many different bowling centers. My last ball Dan drilled and I am still using it.I want to buy another one soon but want to find out were Dan is so he can drill it.Does anyone know were he is and is still drilling bowling balls ?

Well I'm sure you have been bowling all your life, but I grew up in this bowling center just like my father. You know, not all of the bowlers cry because of a bad score. People make mistakes once in a while. I have been up to Albany and they're just as good as Chatham Bowl. But what my grandfather Chet said was a good bowler always got used to the lanes. My mom gave me a ride home. My dad even gave me a ride home. Even though my dad isnt at Chatham anymore, he would go back if he could but he cant. Even though my family got in a family fight, we still are family. Even though my past of Chatham Bowl is going away, I can still feel that my grandparents are there. You have no idea what I went through. This whole fight just started when I was just around 10 or 11. Do you know how confuzing that is to you when you're just a little kid? No!! You dont. I do. My dad used to always drill my balls. And now that he cant I just go to Cove Lanes. My dad never made my ball so that it would hurt me.

I have been into bowling all my life. All you bowlers cry you want better scores, you get them then you cry scores are too high. You cry when you bowl bad. When you bowl good you never say nice lanes. But that feeling of getting a 300 feels nice, but did you cry? No!I am sure your talking about the past.Thank to the ABC they let bowling get out of hand.Take a trip to Albany if you want to see big scores. All I can say is you bowlers had the world.Who helped you out when your car would not run or who helped with that flat tire.Who would give you a ride home?Or who would fix a ball that got hurt from another bowling center?Or who fixed a ball that hurt your hand from another pro shop? who gave the high school bowling for free before a match?or who let you use the back room for free or little to next to nothing. Why because we were all family.

Hey. Mountain Man. I dont know what youre saying about Chatham Bowl. but all I know is that you are a complete lier in your opinion. I am the granddaughter of Chet and Carol, and the daughter of Dan. Listen buddy, if you dont like the lanes, dont come there. I bet I know a lot more than you do. So dont be talking bad about my lanes. I dont allow ANY bad talk about Chatham Bowl.

Are you guys serious?!? This must be the worst bowling facility in the world. The lanes are about as old as the town and the building is in terrible shape. The only kudos i give to the place is that the snack par is good and a great deal for the price. Scores here are rediculous. I've watched too many of our junior bowlers blow up at this place only to do terrible anywhere else they bowl. Kyle is the greatest example of this. Why allow someone the chance to bowl a 300 with their eyes closed when you know anywhere else they would average 170 at best. Terrible management and terrible place to bowl if you are a serious bowler.

Chatham Bowl is a great place to come and spend time with my family. The arcades, restaurants and the open space in the center are among the best I've seen. It is a quality building that maintains a degree of charm as compared to your typical bowling center.

The lanes are outdated. No automatic computer scoring. Facility is in need of some updating. For the quality of the facility, the price range is pretty steep.

Not the best bowling center. A lot better when Dan was there. Nice place to eat at though, but still, it was better when Dan was there. Hope that he will come back

Above average lane conditions and good scores. Good deals on Cosmic bowling and an inhouse restaurant

These lanes are quaint with a ambiance of the mid-20th century, while services are today. A pleasant experience. Will visit often.
