After bowling here for a few years now. I found the lanes to be tough lanes to bowl. I bowl many other places and found Cambrians lanes to be a bit dry. It was explained to me that this is the house pattern for oil. I can't say that they don't oil the lanes, because I've seen oil on my ball, although it didn't last long.
I haven't had any problems with the staff. All have been very helpful and friendly. Some have even help with improvement tips for my game.
This is more then I can say for some of the rude people that I have had to bowl next to in other lanes. But that has nothing to do with the staff.
The staff does try to deal with it as best as possible when the situation gets to out of hand.
The food is as expected. It's good. It isn't Mom's cookin'. The service is great. I haven't any problems with service from any of the waitress's or bartender. As a matter of fact, I had expected to pay for a refill on a soda and the bartender didn't charge me for it (my surprise).
I have to agree with the comment I read about the seating.
O.k. now my opinion...
This is a tough house compared. If you can learn to bowl this house, you should be able to bowl a good game elsewhere. It's a great place to improve your bowling skills and accuracy because of it's oil pattern.
I found that after bowling here for the last couple of years, my game has improved elsewhere substantially. A bit frustrating at first when I started bowling here because I was used to faster lane conditions (more oil). But as I said, after learning to bowl these lanes, when I go elsewhere, I usually have great scoring games.

I found the bartender to be extremly rude. Before I even can order a drink, he askes for my ID. As Im preparing to show it to him while telling him what I wanted he told me I needed to see 2 ID's to the 2 drinks. So I came back with my friend's ID and he got more upset and yelled me that my friend needed to come in too. Finally, my friend comes in with me and he serves us only to be rude to my friend that they just accept cash. Fortunatly I have cash and pay him. He never apoligizes and was rude to us throughout. I umderstand policy, but he needs to treat customers with respect, espesially when they've done nothing to him!

I went on the weekend & would go back again.
There was a nice family atmosphere for bowling
& fun. (Friendly servers & bartenders) I Loved
the experience. I went into the bar while I was
bowling to ask a question & the bartender was
wonderful.

Overall the lanes are good and the center is clean. The daytime desk person needs to seriously work on her people skills. The mechanic needs to act more professionally, The four letter tirades are audible from behind the pinsetters to the concourse.

I can't believe the mechanic during the day has not been fired. I have heard language that is NOT
proper during business hours when bowlers are on the floor. I won't bring ny grand kids there to bowl.

I like to bring my kids bowling during the day when I can. The day desk person can be very rude.
I been in a couple of times waithing for her to get off the phone, thinking it was business related, just to hear it was a personal phone call.

The lanes are good, new monitors, but seating and visitor seating leave a lot to be desired compared to many "upgraded" bowling alleys in the area. Price is good because of this. I disagree with other comments of a great pro shop. I have found them not to be very curtious or helpful, although the price may be good. Food and drink service is great.

This bowling alley is great. I really like the pro shop - they know what they are talking about. Plus they have the best prices. Cambrian has good prices compared to the other bowling alleys around the bay area.

I love this bowling alley! The people are very friendly and you can have such a great time there! Skip Pavone's Pro Shop is great!!! He has such great prices the drilling is free with a ball! I give this bowling alley 2 thumbs up! Fine holiday fun! :)

This is the best bowling alley I have been to for a long time, even after seeing the one in Yuba City (nu generation lanes)!!!
