In response to Anoymous, I would just like to say as another bowling alley owner who has never been in NES I don't know why you think the owners of the bowling alley should sit there (or pay someone else) to sit there waiting for you to show up a couple times a year. Summer is a slow time for bowling alleys and it does not make economic sense to be open at certain times. We open for our leagues that come in WEEKLY and on rainy days when we MIGHT make a profit but to pay staff and lose money during the slowest times just doesn't make sense. We live nearby and are a small alley and don't live far so often times will put a sign in to call if someone wants to bowl and don't mind running up to open if someone has called ahead or is here waiting but we're not about to sit around waiting for you. Learn from what you've been through - call ahead to make sure they're open. It's not always about you. Bowling alleys are open long hours in the winter and they deserve time to enjoy their families too. Are you aware in Worcester MA where bowling originated many years ago, there were over 30 candlepin alleys and they are now down to 1. Just be glad these people are able to stay in business and offer the hours they do. If you want to have them there at your convenience start a league.

It is summer time and you would think that the necs center would be open during the day for the kids to go bowling. I have been there a couple of times and have had a great time. But your bussinees should be open during the days for the public. I have been discussted by the way you guys run your bus. The closest bowling alley around here is in bangor, You are a bowling alley right? You should have normal hours during the day for many familys to enjoy instead of family's going to you establishment and finding out that your closed. This has happened to me a couple of times now!! It is hard enough to find the free time to go bolwing but when you get in your car and drive to necs they are closed and you dissapoint your kids. Come on now you guys call yourself a family business!? Get a real schedule and stop dissapointing our children!! I will be back there again. I will spend my $$ and gas to go to Bangor. (where they have normal hours FOR THE KIDS!!!!!)

Well lets start with your pool room. My wife and I are; what I like to consider, above average pool players. When we go out to play, we like to play for at least four hours. Since Miami North in Bangor has closed; we started playing in your facility. We love the room lay out, and the how it is separated from the rest of the action in the bowling alley. Your staff is always (was) curtious to us, and very accomadating to our preferences of tables. I rate your table quality an eight out of ten, because the felt is virtualy gone, and it's like playing on cement. The rails are good, and the levelness of the tables seem really close. I do really enjoy playing pool there though. Now on to the issue at hand. Your staff member's (only one, not all) attitude or customer relation skills--or the lack there of. My wife and I started bringing our two young children to bowl. They instantly fell in love with it. My wife was driving that day so I thought I'd have a beer, while I watched the kids having fun. That's when "He" told me about some work restriction he had, and could not pour me a beer because he was afraid of getting caught in violation. Did I mention we were the only people in your entire facility at the time--we were. So I didn't get a beer, and you did not make a cent off me or my wife the whole time we were sitting there watching, because of this guy at the counter. I don't have to tell a succesful business man like yourself--is bad business. So after that experience we decided to start looking into another facility to spend money in, or build our own rec. room at home. Well it's been about 2 months since we visited your facility, and I happen to get out early one day from work (about4:00) and called home to find out my wife and her sister visiting from Mass. was heading over to your Newport Entertainment Complex to take the kids Bowling. I said that I would meet them there. I thought to myself; what else is there to do on a rainy, Sept 11th afternoon about 4:15, but watch my kids bowl with their Aunt while me and my wife sit back and have a beer or two. WRONG AGAIN! The same guy was there, and did I mention we were literally the only people in the place, the only car in the parking lot, a total ghost town. I approached the counter where he leaned; doing absolutely nothing, and stupidly asked if I could get a beer from the bar, and he said " I can't get you a beer. I'm too busy with all this paperwork for tonights league. You'll have to wait till the bartender gets here in 10 minutes. I can't believe this happened two times in a row. What the hell is up with your establishment. Employees have to be multi-tasked. you are paying these people for what? Do they not understand how businesses make money? Everyone in the place needs to be spending money on something--all the time! I know you know how to make money. I've lived the area my whole life. Take a walk in there some time and do some weeding of the garden would yah! In closing; the bar tender got there, and came out to our alley, and asked if she could get us anything. I was so pleased, that we stayed and had a few rounds with some friends that showed up, and the kids had a great time as usual. However; we will not be playing pool or having any adult outings to your facility anymore. I have very little free time, and I do not want to spend it being disgusted by unprofessional employees, that do not understand their job. Do some training and some weeding, and you'd have one hell of a facility.
