Just bowled there on Super Bowl Sunday and what a deal. They had a special for almost 3 hours until 6 pm of unlimited bowling with shoes included for only $25 per lane. That's was great as we had 4 in our group and bowled nearly 20 games. We had a blast, finished and then watched the football game that night. Hope they do the same next year.

I use to work at the snack bar and I would never eat because of the kitchen being filthy . The owners are not from the US so they don't understand basic hygiene and food safety . I remember the owner Moe cleaning his nose with a towel and then using the same towel to clean the counter . Also , when we finished mopping the filthy kitchen floor we emptied the dirty water in the sane sink they cleaned lettuce . Dropping food and cooking it was encouraged . They reuse dinner rolls that are customer left overs . I use to bring my own food and not eat free food because I didn't want to get suck . I'm really surprised the health department hasn't closed that place .

I've been involved in bowling and bowling management for over 30 years and only moved to Harford County earlier this year. Anxious to find a place to bowl, my new neighbors directed me to Forest Hill Lanes. I still haven't forgiven them. It took me ONE and ONLY ONE visit to this place to realize these people know absolutely nothing about the game of bowling, the business of bowling and basic customer service/relations. The first and only time I bowled at Forest Hill, I had the misfortune of meeting the center's manager ... an absolutely miserable human being named Jim Miller. I practiced for about 2 hours during which I committed the unforgiveable sin of erasing frames using their automated scoring system. Mind you, this means absolutely nothing since the system keeps an accurate count of the number of frames actually bowled regardless of the frames erased from the overhead score board. When I finished bowling, I paid Mr. Miller and was admonished for having the unmitigated gall to erase frames even though I paid for each and every frame bowled. The following dialogue took place between Mr. Miller and me. Miller --- We've got a problem here. Me --- Excuse me, how's that? Miller --- I don't know who you are or where you come from, but at Forest Hill Lanes we don't tolerate erasing frames. Me --- It's not unusual for someone to do that and the last time I checked it wasn't a crime. Besides, I'm paying for the frames I bowled so what's the problem? Miller --- The problem is I'm the manager here and I make the rules. Don't bother bowling here if you're not going to follow the rules. Me --- What rules? I don't see any rules posted saying to not erase frames. In fact, I don't see any rules posted saying anything about anything so why are we having a problem? Miller --- I just told you it's a problem because we don't do that here and since I'm the manager I make the rules. If the kids see you doing that, they will do it then I'll have all kinds of headaches. Me --- It's 11 o'clock in the morning, there aren't any kids in here. In fact, there is NO ONE else here. I'm the only one bowling. Miller --- Follow the rules or don't come back. Me --- Fair enough. Have a nice day.

This is a very good Lanes. I can see by reading some of these reviews that not everyone realizes how difficult it is to run a bowling lanes, and how strict the staff has to be sometimes. We have birthday parties there frequently for the kids and always have a great time. The staff is helpful but you have to do the work yourself -- as they tell you in advance -- this is not a catering facility! So when they get busy, don't expect them to drop everything to help you carry pizza! They will however drop everything to help you if you have a lane or machinery problem -- they will gladly move you or give you a new lane if that is available, if a problem persists. You can't ask for more. Meanwhile, the place is clean, well-run and very convenient. People, get a life -- come and bowl and enjoy the place. That's what it's for.

We have ALWAYS been treated with a tremendous amount of kindness and respect, whether it be taking our kids there for dinner, bowling or birthday parties! The customer service is EXELLENT & their food is particularly great! I have tried many different items on the menu & each one that I have tried I have thoroughly enjoyed! They treat my kids so well & make us feel right at home everytime we walk through the doors.No matter what, at some point, some people are not going to have their excellent experience everywhere you go, so the ignorant comments that are left about this fine establishment, are those of just pure ignorance! This is a wonderful place for bowling, food, kids,etc. I went here as a child and I will continue to bring my kids here!!

Beautiful facility, and lots of lanes... but BEYOND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have my Bachelors in Business Management and would be beyond embarassed to have my business run by such an unpalatable staff. Most of the kids that work there are polite and friendly... its the manager. It's not just about the facility, or the bathrooms, it also about the service. I will take my business elsewhere! Just called to book a birthday party... BIG MISTAKE. After the "manager" was ignorant and snippy I realized no matter what he is getting paid... it's too much. The truth hurts, and for Mr and Mrs. Klein- this man is RUINING your bottom line.

Took my kids there for their first bowling experience. Some old man manging the place was very RUDE. The staff overall is not very nice. The Klein family has only one thing on their minds and that is money. Skip this place. The place is horrible.

This place is without a doubt the worst bowling facility that I have ever been to. The workers are very rude. The only fun I had going there is that the other bowlers were complaining about how terrible is was there. I am glad that I am not the only person that feels that this place is aweful. Also when my cousin had a birthday party there they kept trying to hurry us out of the place because they ran out of lanes. They should really just close this place down.

Excellent facility with 40 lanes, etc. Trying to bring bowling into the 21st century with lasers, computers, e-newsletters and on-line offers -- good luck and good hunting! Massive recent renovations and upgrades to lanes and tech. Staff does a good job in sometimes trying conditions.

I wanted to add my "two cents" about the birthday parties at Forest Hill Lanes. I had all my kids parties there as they were growing up and only had great experiences. The staff was always friendly and polite. We would not have gone back if it had been a horrible experience. In fact, my two kids, who are now grown and graduated, continue to go there for rock-n-bowl and just to bowl with their friends because they always have a good time. It's too bad after reading the majority of the comments posted on this site that most of them sound like they are written by uneducated people that have difficulty doing basic math or even spelling correctly! Don't let the jerks of the world stop you from having a good time bowling with your family! (And I beleive that 2 yr olds should not be bowling anyway!)

An excellent place to bowl. The staff doesn't take any guff or trouble from anyone but runs a very attractive and tight ship. 40 lanes, plenty with bumpers for the kids. Good restaurant and snack bar. Rock 'n Bowl isn't for everyone but if you are a teen and like to bowl with laser and fireworks effects going on all around you, this is the thing for you! Lanes has good discounts for weekday summer nights and Sunday mornings. That kind of thing. Really they do a very good job running a very difficult kind of facility.

Hello, I just wanted to say that I love the Lanes. Yes, food is not the best, people can be rude, and there are probably many other imperfections, but I have many great memories there. I can't think of another place to bowl nearby, so we go here. Bowling is bowling. You'll have problems anywhere you go in life.

My sons have been bowling there for years on leagues. I have also had birthday parties there and have attended the New Years Eve Parties. My family and I have never had any issues. Actually, I had my sons there one day practice bowling and a group from an elementary school came in to bowl. The staff was kind enough to move us to another lane so the boys could concentrate on their bowling. I should say though that I do have some issues with the pro shop but that does not reflect on how I feel about the lanes in general.

I had a great kids party there. Two lanes, kids were ages 6-8 yrs old & all had fun. Enough pizza and soda plus as part of the package they had invitations to mail out. I had no mess at home and parents had fun too. My child even got a free birthday bowling pin that all his friends signed their name. Very nice touch.

I just want to tell of horrible experience having my childs second birthday party at forest hill lanes. we reserved 2 lanes for the children to bowl, 12 people to bowl total. First there were only 12lbs bowling balls for the children, well my 2 year old can't lift that so my husband asked if he could have a 6lb and he was given 1. He went to look for more and couldn't find any. He went to ask for another 6lb ball so we could have one for each lane and they refused. They had a case full of them but told him they were already out. Then the manager came to yell at my husband that too many people were bowling because we only paid for 12 people and they counted 16. There were only 9 people bowling and only 9 people with shoes. We had younge children there that had to use the bathroom and the bathrooms were closed and they would not let the children in to use the restrooms so needless to say there were a couple of accidents. some of the parents were saying they were thinking of having their child party there but not after what they witnessed. I dont think we will be going back any time soon. not once were we approached with respect. The kids that work there were nice and tried to help but the manager was nasty from the start.

This is the nicest bowling center i have ever been to. Clean, bright, very adult friendly. It is pricey, but you get what you pay for here. There are alot of bowling alley's packed full of kids running around with cake all over their face, this is not one of them.

They are not high and mighty at the desk. They actually run a family bowling center. Lanes work, equipment is fixed promptly when there is a problem (rare), clean bathrooms, orderly youth leagues, high school league that is run very nicely. Birthday party programs that are fairly priced and have gifts and invitations included. No disorderly people. Great place to go and have a safe fun time regardless of when you are there.

I recently had a birthday party for my 5 year old and it was by far the worst party I've ever had at an establishment. The staff was rude and when we had several people show up for the party who forgot to RSVP the person behind the counter yelled at me and told me that some of the kids were going to have to give back their shoes. Like 5 year olds are going to give BACK their bowling shoes. I actually had to walk away and let my husband handle it because I was going to go off in front of the kids if I didn't leave. Then, a staffer was rude to one of our guests and was told off by several fathers. There was not enough food, drinks or paper products for every person. I could go on and on. It was so embarassing for me and I apologized to everyone that I even had the party there. Have your party at MyGym, The Arena Club, The Bel Air Athletic Club or any other place, but NOT Forest Hill Lanes.

Getting over it? Last time I heard the place is still managed by the same rude folks and people are still complaining about the services that the different managers from the two establishments offer. My job as a former customer is to describe what I experienced at that place even if it was a long time ago. Word of mouth advertising can be positive or negative depending on your experience and mine was by far the most disrespectful negative experience I had in Harford County and I been a long time resident . Mr. Klienís has done a lot of good things for the community but I donít understand why he lets the rude and unqualified managers of the restaurant and blowing alley ruin his positive image .

We use to be regulars at this bowling center for nearly 10 years but that all changed on the New Years Eve bowling party in 1997. We made our reservation 2 weeks prior to the event and we clearly asked the managed if we could bring in a cake and some snacks and Mr. Jim Miller allowed us to do this. We got to the bowling alley and their New Years Eve special party started and so we started bowling and having fun. Nearly 30 minutes into our fun we saw the Restaurant manager/owner Moe fighting with Mr. Jim Miller and complaining why we were allowed to enter the bowling alley with outside food. This almost turned into physical fight between the bowling alley staff and Moe and some other guy from the restaurant. Even though there were kids present both sides were exchanging bad words. Itís obvious that there was and maybe still is tension between the restaurant and the bowling alley managers/owners. We were asked because of the Mr. Moe to throw our food in the garbage or leave. We decide to leave and never came back. No refund was given. It amazes me that even the staff from the different businesses at this establishment canít get along so itís totally understandable and reasonable to see so many customers complaining about the staff.

In case you did not know, Bel Air Bowl has been closed for 10 years! I guess James has been in hibernation or living in a cave. Since then, there have been a few homes built in the area. The old Bel Air Bowl is now a Gold's Gym. You have to wait there too to get on a treadmill or eliptical machine. Memories are great aren't they?

The food is good the servive is not bad but its crowed so that is understanable I am takintg my husband here for dinner and bowling but am unable to make a reserve for 18 people that is unfair they said they can't do it cuz it gets to crowed I don't get that but we'll be eating here and then bowling its a nice combination.

Everyone should lay off the coffee! A little heated comments here. I bowl at Forest Hill and like everything in life there is good and bad. Make a chart with 2 columns and write down the +'s on one sie and the -'s on the other. A little hint for your chart: Clean, pricing, food, equipment working, modern equipment in place, lights working, carpet clean, staff helpful, leagues full, law and order (safe), parking lot lights working, parking lot clean, sidewalks clean when it snows, seating, bar, pro shop (hint some places don't even have one), bathrooms clean. You get the point. There are good and bad, but to be honest this place scores fine. Sure, it cost more today to bowl, but there are discount offered for league bowlers, open play discounts are posted, Monday discounts and others. Sure if you want to bowl at 6-8 pm on a Saturday, be prepared to pay top price. Every bowling center that I ever go to has the same premium price structure at premium times. I am not saying this place is perfect, but certainly above average. Drink Decaf.

I go to FH Lanes every Thursday to watch my husband bowl. I have had nothing but courtesy and polite treatment there from the staff at the counter, the snack bar and restaurant manager. Neal in the pro shop does an outstanding job and is a very nice person. In fact he has drilled all of my husband's bowling balls. So I guess if he stunk my husband would not have shot a 300 game two weeks ago? So Mr. McKraken if you want your balls drilled elsewhere you go right ahead, your choice. That's the beauty and freedom we have here in America, you have choices. You go right ahead and go to Edgewood to bowl, again your perogative, make sure you lock your doors to your car, carry mace or a gun if you prefer to live and be sure not to take anything nice or use your nice synthetic bowling balls on their rickety wooden lanes. I have never had a bad experience with FH Lanes and would choose to go there any day over Perry Hall, where my husband bowls too, Edgewood, Country Club, Woodlawn another tough neighborhood. Those who point one finger have three pointing back at themself.

First I'd like to know where you fact of this center being in the top 10% in the country i find that hard to believe. I have seen many centers around this country and it is not in my top 10%. I've read people talking sarcastically about Perry Hall that center doubles forest hills gross income per year and also has the most league bowlers in Maryland with over 2300 per week. Forest hill is lucky if they have half that. Instead of putting new masking units and couches in why not get a dehumidfier so the approaches arent like velcro in the summer that might be a great investment for your bowlers. You people talk about the PBA tournament in july. If the center was run that weekend like it is every other weekend things wouldnt be so smooth. They try to make a regional a national stop because they can't and never will get a national stop because of their location to far away from the airport,hotels, and a large metro area. which pretty much sums up the whole center its a nice country bowling center the best in harford county however far from the best outside of the county. their prices are rediculous. Centers in New York state charge about $1.00 more per game those are the highest prices I've seen and that center was much much much nicer. once again its a nice harford county center and thats all just leave it at that and don't think its better than it is. oh btw i wouldn't let the pro shop drill a hole in a 2x4 for me

Having spent my fair share of time here and reading all of these comments, I have a few things to say to all the people who feel justified to steer others away from this establishment. To those who complain about the prices- Ever heard of an economical term called inflation? Sure 20 years ago when you bowled it was $0.25 a game and you could bowl all night with your friends. It is 2008, and things coast a bit more. Life goes on. I don't see you complaining about the $25,000 car, when it was $5,000 20 years ago. By the way, 6 people, $5.50 a game, $3.80 for shoes is $55. How you got $80 is beyond me. To those who complain about the management- No, the customer is not always right if you act like a complete jackass and whine about everything. Try controlling your little kids, too. Here's an idea. If you're ball return is too fast, would you like us to completely rebuild it? It isn't that simple to fix like you might think. But no, it is obviously something to raise a fit over because you cant wait 2 seconds until your ball is not moving. If you act like a complete stuck up b**** who doesn't get they're way, you're going to get treated like that. The world is not revolving around you. yes the managers can be a bit rude, but if you treat this place of business like a place of business and not your wiping post, things run smooth. Grow up. Shaniqua or whatever your real name is- I was there to witness that event too. Like I said before. Businesses have a way of running things. You can't always get what you want, and if you are used to that, sounds like there are some issues that need to be fixed in your head. People don't come into where you work, and tell you how to run things, do they? There is a reason this place is in the top 10% of bowling centers in the country. Because it is the cleanest, most well kept center in the area. No you can't come in and expect to do whatever you please, yes there are rules, and yes if you don't follow, you will be reprimanded. The employees care about the sport for what it is and where it is going. Nearly $500,000 worth of investing to replace the scoring and looks doesn't say much does it? Coming from an INDEPENDENTLY owned center, not a corporation like Brunswick or AMF like Perry Hall or Country Club. For all of you who come in on a Saturday night or a Sunday filled with birthday parties and open bowlers, you are not the only customer. Patience is a virtue, except in this craziness we call a world no one has any of it. It is not a daycare center. They are not responsible for your kids. Nor are they responsible for hearing you complain because you can' always get your way. If you complain from the second you walk in the door, you're never going to be satisfied with anything. The best thing for you is to turn around and not come in. You want to go to Edgewood do you? Take a weapon. More than 70% of income comes from the leagues. The largest ladies league in the state, 22 leagues not including the youth, and a PBA tournament every summer, often referred to as the best regional stop in the region. Sold out nearly every week for rock n' bowl, now $18/$20 and often a waiting list every Saturday evening. Clearly this place is horrible. Every business has unhappy customers, don't let this site deter you just because the pissed off ones come here to complain. The staff works hard to keep the building clean, and controlled, despite what you might read here. Have a good day everyone.

I am very disappointed in these nasty comments. I have had nothing but good experiences at Forest Hill. I have bowled on the youth league for 2 years and its an awesome experience. I like it because its small and quaint and you can bowl without 300,000 other people around you with no courtesy. All the other bowling alleys in this area are either in a bad neighborhood, too big or too far away. I say Forest Hill is perfect with its new updated look. The food is good and so is the service!

Recently there are discounts on midweek (9 pm tuesday - thursday) open bowling and sunday morning specials have reduced prices. Also, Free shoe rental after 9 pm tuesday - thursday. League play earlier in the evening although some open play on Friday night.

I recently moved to the area and have been bowling for years. Forest Hill Lanes was an awful experience. High prices and awful management will stop me from returning. I'll take my business to edgewood amf.

The old man at the desk is one rude person. The old lady is even nastier. I am told she is responsible for the youth leagues. I would never let my kids bowl there as long as she is there. I'm with the others who say the owners need to hire some friendly people that don't drive customers away.

The rules of the league are not followed by the "clicks" but you break a rule they act like BABIES. As for the staff, watching Ross totally ignore a question from one of my team members and just thru up his hands. The lanes are crappy and there is too much nonsense. As for the Fisherman's Catch - because we are regulars we hear the waitresses complain and we GET NO SERVICE. Food is good but the service is HORRIBLE. T

This place is by far better than the most recent comment. If the limit of this person's vocabulary is limited to 4 for 5 letters words, they should stay someplace else. They will never be satisfied with anything. You go there to BOWL ... pretty simple isn't it? No nails in the lanes, scorers work, lights go on. I don't plan on too much else. My league is actually looking forward to the season with new improvements to the place. Stop whining.

This place was ok back in the day , like 10 years ago . Right now eveything about FHL s*cks , and so does Fisher Mans Catch. Both places have rude staff and bad service . Never going back again !!!!

Open bowling is very expensive. It is also difficult to get the employees to make eye contact. I have had much better experiences at Perry Hall and Country Club lanes. They may be further away but because there is more competition in those areas, they try harder to please the customer and are more competitive.

Those that know bowling can tell you that there is little room for idiotic comments like "horrible" this or that. Bowling centers should be judged on equipment, conditions and keeping up with the game. This bowling center goes beyond those measurements. The place is clean, equipment modern and they run a good house. Those that don't bowl in leagues probably do not understand what leagues bowlers want and demand for their weekly league payments. It is easy to say bad things when you only bowl during the busiest of times like weekends or when it is raining. This has been my home house for many years and when I think things might not be right all I have to do is go to a corporate house and I am happy to return to Forest Hill. This week I noticed they are planning some end of summer specials on the weekends with discounts, prizes and other programs. Every bowling house should only have the "horrible" managers someone stated. That way, all bowling centers would be clean and orderly. This place actually cares about the facility and the game.

I have been bowling here for 15 years, and I have been lucky enough to watch the center develop from wood lanes to high tech syn becomes available in the bowling world, I am delighted to see that my community bowling center is continuously reinvesting money into their center. If anything, this shows that the people who operate this center, be it the owners or the managers (They are awesome by the way!!), really care about the quality of the game from the perspective of a forest hill customer. I love this place, and so do my kids! Thanks for caring!

Forest Hill Lanes has improved their scoring system. It is touch screen and easy to see the scores on the overhead flat screens. It's a nice and modern look. In fact all the equipment looks new. The center is clean. As for prices, the dollar per game days of bowling are gone. I have been to a few old places that still do cheap games, but they are really old inside and sort of going back in time. Good if you like that sort of thing. That is not what Forest Hill Lanes is about. They are a modern facility. Lots of kids on weekends and family bowling summer leagues. The sit down restaurant is good too with real food like steaks and crab cakes. Who would have thought that inside a bowling alley? The snack bar actually has hand dipped ice cream plus the regular pizza, burgers and french fries you find at other places.

to jenn p with the broken ring....although it's sad your ring was smashed, it is not the responsibility of the bowling alley to pay for something they dont have control over....if your ball return is too fast and youre worried about your safety, report it to the desk....and i have no sympathy for your smashed ring....since you KNOW that the ball return had problems, WAIT for 3 MORE SECONDS until the balls stop from moving, THEN grab the bowling ball....it's not rocket science....i dont know about this forest hill lanes place, but it doesnt surprise me that this "Ross" guy is so angry - he's angry about dealing with idiot customers like you

FHL recently - this summer - replaced all their old scoring with a new Brunswick system. Flat screen monitors and touch screen consoles in the bowlers' area and new look inside over the pins. Additional lounge seating on 6 center lanes. Scoring is easier and the lounge benches are very nice. Compared to other Harford County bowling "alleys" FHL is in a different league. It is clean and neat. Rock and Bowl nights are sometimes too busy, but the lights work, the music is okay and it is safe inside and out. My kids bowl in both youth and high school leagues. FHL provides trophies and scholarships for the high school league. That's a good program and too bad the local schools don't have it as a varsity sport. It is a club program, but competitive. I read comments about managers, but I only know the bowling alley is better than most and the equipment is new, lanes are in good condition. Finally, the food service at the snack bar is something to be desired but the food is good, only the service is sometimes a long wait. The restaurant is just that ... a restaurant and not the typical junk food. I go there for dinner and actually take friends that don't even bowl there to eat. This week they are having a pro event and the place is full. Pro bowlers from all over are there. I know they bowl for the prize money, but I also know they travel great distances to attend the FHL event. Perhaps they know something others don't.

Ross at Forest Hill Lanes is absolutely the WORST "manager" I have ever dealt with in a place of business. He should be ashamed to call himself a manager. That place should be ashamed to employ him. I went to Rock & Bowl last nite and was wrongly charged an extra $16.00, but despite trying to talk about the mistake, Ross refused to give me the money back. He accused me of sneaking in an extra person and they didn't pay, that's why I was charged the extra $16.00. How I could've snuck someone in when we all had black X's on our hands to show that we paid--and Ross was the one ringing up EVERYONE and PUTTING the X's on people's hands--I don't even know. I spent at least 10 minutes with this extremely rude man all the while he was YELLING at me and displaying HORRIBLE customer service. Ross clearly had to have known he was in the wrong by charging me an extra $16.00 but he wanted N0 part of hearing me explain why I wanted my money back. I have never seen anyone be so damn rude to their customers and still have their job. The man talked down to me and treated me like crap. It's a sad situation, really, because I have been going to those Lanes for about 10 years but, because of last night, you can bet I will NEVER go again.

Forest Hill Lanes is totally stuck up. the atmosphere there is "the staff are God's and us peasants should be greatful to be looked down upon by such indifferent employees." I got out of that train wreck shortly after Eric left. Once Eric left, the place really began to become cold and stale. And the PBA regional bowl there cuz of the Kleins pocket, not because anyone likes the place. dont get me wrong its a beautiful Looking center. Just the personalities there are horrible.

Perhaps, Melanie, you are just extremely confused. First of all, their rock and bowl runs from 11 pm until 1:30 am. That would be two and a half hours. Secondly, they don't make you bowl for only one hour. The $16 per person is unlimited bowling and shoes for the full time. Figure it out for yourself...no, let me help you. The normal rate on weekends is $5 per person per game and shoes cost $3.75 to rent. If you bowled 3 games, which is probably what you could bowl in 2 1/2 hours, and rented shoes, it would cost you $18.75. Last time I checked, $18.75 was more than $16.00. Maybe you should know what you are talking about before you mouth off!!!

I would like to comment on shaniqua o's comment. I was a witness to the whole incident and it's funny how different her view is so different from what really happened! Her and her girlfriends were ridiculous from the start and at first the bowling alley may have looked empty but rock and bowl had not started yet! The place was sold out. When they were told they could not switch lanes because that is the policy of the bowling alley and I might add very politely by Ross she kept thinking that batting her eyes would change his mind. Also offering to buy him a drink wasn't working either! When she didn't get her way, and this is a case of people getting mad when they are told something they don't want to hear, she took it upon herself to switch lanes. I don't think Ross would come into her job and disagree with her policies and try to change them himself!! Anyway after getting mad about it they did ask for their money back. At no time did Ross ever "yell" or get mad but politely gave them their refund. The whole time this "shaniqua" which I am sure is not her real name, kept saying things to Ross like " Why don't you come to the bar with us and you can make it up to me?" And "You look like you are having a bad night, why don't I buy you a drink in the bar?" I heard her say this myself. Now doesn't that sound like someone hitting on another person? It does to me! He never addressed her comments which went on the whole time he was crediting her card. That was when his wife leaned over and calmly said to this "woman" that "it's not cool to hit on a married man". The woman got very embarrassed and said "Are you his wife?" His wife said she was and that was when this woman got so angry she started yelling "Aren't you f***ing lucky? Your married to an a**hole" all this in front of families waiting to check in for rock and bowl. She stormed out yelling that(and I quote) "I know people who know people and I will have your job"!! What a jerk. So I guess my point is don't believe everything you read. I have only had wonderful experiences bowling here and this is why the PBA will be bowling here in the summer. People tend to mouth off when they don't get what they want!!! Keep bowling at FHL!!! I have for 10yrs!

Forest Hill Lanes is over-priced. On the weekends, they have Rock-n-Bowl from 11:30-1:30. The price is $16 per person but you areb only allowed to play for one hour, not two. They strongly recommend you reserve a lane. When I tried to reserve a lane for two people, I was told that in order to reserve a lane, they would be charging my credit card $64, the price for 4 people, because that was their policy. Needless to say, I never went there to bowl. Probably not much of a loss.

I would also avoid this place like the plague. Ross and Jim are definitely rude people. Rose is really mean to the kids. We used to bowl there, but now bowl in Aberdeen. Forest Hill's prices are way too high too. Its like $6 a game, which is way over priced when you consider how nasty you are treated from the momnent you walk in. The bathrooms are dirty and most of the boys that work there can't be bothered to help. They are too busy holding up the walls so they don't come crashing down. A real loser of a bowling alley for sure.

Yeah - I know all too well Forest Hill Lanes. Ross is a real jerk alright. His dad, Jim is even a bigger one. And Rose is the 'youth' director and is as mean to the kids as you will ever find. The Klein Family owns the alley, but these three think they own the place. The Kleins need to fire the whole bunch of them, because they will chase off customers with their petty antics and rude behavior. Look up the Kleins Grocery Stores and call Andy Klein. Let him know about your experience.

I had a terrible experience at Forest Hill lanes. Also with "Ross" who is apparantly the manager. From the moment we walked in we were treated rudely, my husband was yelled at by one of the employees. We started bowling and all night the ball return was shooting the balls out incredibly fast. The kids next to us almost got their hands smashed a bunch of times. Unfortunately, my hand got smashed in between two of the balls and it broke my ring. Apparently this happens quite often because the concession stand worker said "Oh did someone get their finger smashed again?" My husband and I went up to complain and were yelled at by "Ross". He didn't want to hear anything we had to say, kept walking away from us and the he told me that this was a bowling alley. Really, I hadn't noticed. We can't get the General Manager to return our calls because I expect them to pay for my broken ring. We will never ever go back.

My first experience at this bowling alley will be my last. The management was overwhelmingly rude and the customer service was horrible. ?A bunch of my sorority sisters and I decided to meet up in Maryland. Some of my girlfriends travelled from an hour away or further. After dinner we decided to bowl for a good time at Rock and Bowl. When we called ahead of time we found that we needed to reserve a lane. The "man" in charge named "Ross" told us that we could not pick which lane to reserve and that even though the place was empty all lanes were reserved. We knew our other group of girls already had a lane and we wanted to be beside them. We politely requested to have him swap the folks beside our friends to our lane. "Ross" told us he could not change up lanes, no way, no how and shortly said, "Do you want to bowl or what??" The lane that our girlfriends were on was a twin (two lanes close to each other) and it was perfect. We pleaded with him, but to no avail--he became more and more rude and angry stating that if he was to move people around in their lanes, he would have to do so for everyone. We didn't understand what the problem was because the bowling alley was empty. At this point we thought, we will just politely ask if we can swap lanes with the couple that has the lane next to our friends. (Take matters into our own hands and not involve him). The couple agreed to swap instantly. They had not begun their game and were more then happy to go to our lane on the other side of the building. When "Ross" heard of this swap he informed the couple that if they didn't swap back, we would all be kicked out of the bowling alley. Confused and now angry that our bowling night was ruined, we thought we might actually to swap back.We felt bullied and thought, "this cannot be so ridiculous, he must be in a bad mood or something, we will try one last time!" This final attempt was ugly. There was no discussing any other option with "Ross" At this point he was so impatient and angry with us and the kind couple willing to swap that all he did was threaten to throw us out. Finally the young man of the couple stated that he did not want to cause any trouble and he and his girlfriend were going to leave and request their money back. ($16 a head) Frustrated also, we too requested our money back and also requested the managers name and number. This infuriated "Ross" who at this point mentioned that I should tell his "father" he said "hello" and THEN in almost a surreal moment HIS WIFE leaned in and accused one of our girlfriends of hitting on him stating, "real cool hitting on a married man!" this made us laugh because this man was such a jerk, we couldn't believe she was taking up for his behavoir and proud to be married to him let alone thinking that we would hit on him!!!! The Bowling alley had 7 people walk out. Our other group of girls had been 3/4 through their game and left shortly thereafter also.
