Wow..people are really ballsy to personally attack others and put their nose in other peoples buisness on here. But yet, wont put their name. Seriously?..i dont know. Some of these are pretty funny though. Really messed up, but funny.

Comment Date: 4/4/2014 Name: Confused, concerned, Bowler
I am totally disgusted to see some of the comments on this site. People are using this as a way to PERSONALLY BASH employees and it just isn't right. This site is supposed to be about bowling here and NOT personal issues people are having with others. If you have a personal problem with anyone at the center, let's keep it between you and them and not air out your dirty laundry. Obviously you no longer have a job because you were not adequate enough to handle the position. No, I do not work at this center, but am a concerned bowler who is tired of seeing people who are obviously too immature to handle life and just move. The reason I say you no longer have a job is because otherwise you wouldn't be unnecessarily slamming other employees. And please, let's learn some proper English and grammar if you are going to post.

I keep hearing about this site, then i was told that I really should take a look at it. I have never wrote on this site, so I was sock to see Kim bad mouthing me. I will not bad mouth Penndel Bowling Center,I think it's a great place. I'm sure you will deny posting anything but I have learned that's what you do. Next time you want to attack me, you should think twice cause next time I will put you out there. So it's time to grow up and stop the drama

Comment Date: 3/28/2014 Name: An angry customer
I think the owner needs to hire a competent manager instead of the one he has now, Kim I think her name is? I've noticed that he constantly gets rid of employees that actually do their job but unfortunately he keeps the manager, who is obviously rude to the customers and employees.

Comment Date: 3/26/2014 Name: Anonymous
Ps. Everyone knows who was throwing themselves out there to all the men in the place and it sure wasn't Kerry....

Comment Date: 3/25/2014 Name: Anonymous
Which one would kim be....bartender, cash register or the plump older woman? Free with bowling?

Comment Date: 3/25/2014 Name: toot
There are alot of jealous people on here I agree. Its crazy how people are so eager to bash others. You can ruin someone that way. Remember karma people. Its gonna come back at u twice as hard. Dave and kim have done nothing but try to better this place for everyone including the employees. I like working at penndel and I must say We at Penndel have the best customers anyone could ask for hands down. Now people do something useful with your time and go volunteer for a day or two and stop busting kim and Dave's balls....they are trying to do good for all of us. J9:thanks for the great comment. U rock.

Comment Date: 3/21/2014 Name: Anonymous
Obviously alot of jealous ppl on here get a life losers

Comment Date: 3/20/2014 Name: Hey Nani-Nani-mous
Well, somebody had to step in and handle that after Kerry left!

Comment Date: 3/20/2014 Name: J9
I have to say that the improvements to the lanes as well as new monitors is quite a step forward since I started bowling there over 10 years ago, or perhaps longer. I think the menu changes are good and the drink prices are very reasonable!! Dave and Kim have changed the place a lot for the better!! And yes, Toot is the best bartender hands down!!

Comment Date: 3/20/2014 Name: devoted league bowler
I really do love bowling here. Every center has their flaws but I strongly believe Dave is always putting the center and customers first. The employees are very friendly and a bit off at times but I have noticed improvements overall which is a nice sight. Only complaint I have which seems to be a complaint at a lot of centers is the seating. There's 6 seats in the bowlers area which is nice but if you are a drinker those seats are pointless because you can't bring your drink down there. There's not enough seating in the back for people to eat and drink. Wish they would add extra tables on the tile section so people have the ability to actually sit drink and relax.

I recently had my daughters birthday party there and I'm glad we did. The staff and service were wonderful. I highly recommend this place!!!! Definitely going back.

Love this place! Penndel rocks!

Comment Date: 3/20/2014 Name: Disgusted
I am very surprised to see that comment was allowed to be posted about Kim. That comment has nothing to do with bowling and is nothing but just a personal attack that is very inappropriate and should be removed immediately. How was that reviewed and approved for appropriateness?

I actually like dave and kim and the alley I bowl on a few nights and yes i love our bartender toot. Excellent bartender. Do i think its fair the way she gets treated there cant believe she is losing work to cooks and mgmt. PS. MANAGEMENT SHOULDNT ACCEPT TIPS...STOP BEING SO GREEDY BOTH OF YOU.

Comment Date: 2/26/2014 Name: League Bowler
I really do like the place but I have to say now that Kara is not there the nights seem to run like crap anymore. People are scattered and frantic almost on the verge of tears half the time. There isn't as much care for the league bowlers as there use to be. People are constantly going missing from the counter no one is really ever there to help anymore or even knows what they are doing especially with the consoles. Hopefully the new people get their act together soon because performance is quite poor at this point.

Comment Date: 2/21/2014 Name: Anonymous
I love this place! The workers are helpful and friendly but,.... Why is the owner so nasty to his workers and customers? Stop complaining about your "sucky job" you should be happy in this economy that the ally is still open! No one what's to hear you complain about not getting a paycheck each week. Complaining to anyone who will listen in the bar as you pour yourself a triple Jack & Coke kinda pathetic don't you think? By the looks of it you still have plenty of money to eat.

Comment Date: 2/20/2014 Name: No respect
Can not even believe how the manager or owner big guy out speaks to his employees. And then to do it in front of customers. Pal you need some lessons in respect. No wonder you cant keep employees there or keep a girlfriend. Cant imagine how you talk to her. Lighten up

Comment Date: 2/20/2014 Name: Heather Brooke
The bartender toot, shes a great bartender...really funny and nice. Im gonna start going to the bowling ally on the days she works!!! Awesome girl.

Comment Date: 2/17/2014 Name: Frequent customer
The older heavy lady who works in the bar i heard was the manager and Owner's girlfriend? She should spend more time acknowledging the cusomers who havent ordered and less time talking crap on her boyfriend and other workers. Lady is a serious loser. I whittnessed her saying sexual and inappropriate comments to the cook and waitress. Waitress was too busy talking to her and the front desk then her job. She looks like shes 14-16 years old drinking in the bar with manager and serving it!!.. That Place is extremely out of hand. Other than that, the kids who run the front desk are always polite and are on top of their job. Lanes were awesome! I'd come back but my family and I will not be giving that bar/kitchen any buisness.

Comment Date: 2/16/2014 Name: Anonymous
It gross me out to go in there twice to see that this place has bugs in the pub. I moved my drink & it ran across the table! My food ways right there, i wasn't eaten that food, that looked gross anyway!!

Comment Date: 2/16/2014 Name: Anonymous
Ive been going there for almost my whole life and never have seen it like this. I was in there friday and saw a roach in the bar! The "manager" was bring her overly flirty self which made me uncomfortable to the point where i no longer sat in the bar. Constantly on her phone, and or bitching about somebody.

Comment Date: 1/27/2014 Name: Toot (bartender)
The only thing i have to say is at least this loser bartender knows how to spell. Get a life.

Comment Date: 1/18/2014 Name: Toot

Comment Date: 1/7/2014 Name: joke
I will never go back to this bowling alle again. It is a joke! Things are out of control. The people at the desk are on the phone more then working, hired new bartenders that don't know how to bartend & the owner is rude to his workers & customers.

Comment Date: 12/30/2013 Name: to who ever cares!
This place is being run into the ground. Nothing but drama & drugs in that place & the owner is a part of it. There's been under age drinkers! Cops should be checking out this place!

Love to bowl there! They are finally "cleaning house" with the's about time!

Comment Date: 12/12/2013 Name: I see more
.....because those bartenders are "loosers"

This place is a joke. How people put up with that place is beyond me. Keep running the place into the ground Penndel. Your doing a great job at making the place stink.

Comment Date: 12/5/2013 Name: joke
Why are the bartenders loosing there hours to the owners girlfriend and the cooks? What a mess.

Comment Date: 11/19/2013 Name: Happy customer!

I do like bowling at penndel lanes. I have a lot of fun there. The employees for the most part are awesome. I understand that they put up with a lot of crap there. However I think it is horrible, absolutely horrible that not only a new bartender but the owners girlfriend pushes her along to flirt and even meet up with many patrons of the bowling center. Some of these men are married. Are u two that desperate for friends and boyfriends. To me that's a real whore and the owners girlfriend pushes her along. Would you two like it done to u. Try keeping your mouth and legs closed. Real pigs. Both of u.

I bowled at Pendel lanes over 20 yrs ago and the alleys of today what a difference, clean nice lanes good workers.I just joined the Thurs league after not bowling for sometime. The young woman who works the desk withe the nice smile,is willing to go out of her way to make sure no one has a problem. If your going to make a complaing about anything and post it you sould at least post your name unless you have something to hide.

Place is great. Machines are running better. Lane conditions are much more consistent. Only negative is the prices on drinks. Where's the discounts for the league bowlers who spend money in there week after week? Bucket beers would be nice. The pitcher prices are kinda outrageous. Now it's hard to tip the bartender. Before I could just leave a 10 and that would be cover the beer and a tip, now I've got to make sure I always have extra 1's to tip with. In all actuality everything's fairly priced for OPEN bowlers, but for league bowlers to not have any discounted drinks or food is pretty ridiculous. Bring on the deals Penndel! I love the place otherwise.

besides penndel and bristol who has waitress service... you must be a one house bowler

Comment Date: 5/4/2012 Name: Crabby
I am sure the management at Penndel Bowling Center wants to hear any and all comments, good or bad. However, when those comments are petty, mean, or ones that are out and out lies, you have to then consider the source. Sounds to me that the person who does not like people taking a break and having fun at their job for a moment is a grouch who is probably upset because he or she has a miserable life. Happy employees are key to any operation and if 60 seconds of silliness makes up for rude impatient idiots complaining about everything and nothing is good enough for them, I say God bless them. Go to one of the other bowling houses and either look at the people working there who never smile and don't give a crap or the houses where the pin chasers are too busy groping the waitresses. I have seen all of the above. So, my answer to you is very simple. If you are that unhappy, don't bother coming back. I am sure that you will not be missed.

point is that i can talk about bristol pike because it is a free country I am talking about bristol pike because of the negative experience at Penndel lanes.. therefore i do need to include the outcome of my experience. We did not need to expand our league we were full. We are just about full now after the move. I am sure u have some kind of ties with the alley and the owner with the nature to your objections that is fine I dont nor to u do i have any ties therefore I could care less about your advice or your well wishes. I will always answer your comments because I can because this site allows me to. Thank you bowling 2 u

Comment Date: 4/28/2012 Name: Anonymous
I never said don't comment I said if your going to rave about another center put that comment on their site, not on here. And yes if it doesn't work out at bristol atleast you all tried. I am not bad mouthing you ladies at all or asking for rosy comments, all I asked is that if bristol is all your going to talk about then put that feedback on their site. As far as your fall out with the owner I could care less, that's between you all and him. I have no idea what happened and choose not too. I just know my league will be returning next year, we signed our contract and choose to give disclosure on our prize fund breakdown because we know if we want to continue growing as a league then potential league bowlers need to see our prize fund so they know what they are buying into. Our league is going to expand and we enjoy our time at penndel. Sorry your experience wasn't as postive as ours ladies but I do sincerely wish you all the best at Bristol. Hopefully your league prospers over there and continues to grow!

Comment Date: 4/27/2012 Name: ANON
i am an regular customer (non league) and went to bowl on thursday night! nobody was at the counter then i saw her in the back hallway messing around with the gm(i know this cause i bowl there on dollar nights also) then they ran into the bar and proceeded to shoot fluid out of the soda gun getting the floor all wet. i left at this point and will never be back. very unprofessional conduct!!!!!

Comment Date: 4/26/2012 Name: Anonymous
This site is about penndel and it was not a good experience in the end after many years bowling there. I have as much rights as the person telling me not to talk on here If u want only nice and rosy things said go talk to the owner and crew. Thats there job,. I paid a lot of money over the years to bowl in penndel I have also bowled at Bristol. I always carried a better average at Bristol. That was not the most important thing to me. The reason I stayed in Penndel is because of my ladies league. It is also closer. Now I am going to still be with my league. We were treated nicely at Bristol I can only imagine who would say we were not. Yes they do want us as a customer enough to offer us a free night of bowling for the league and a dollar cheaper a girl a night. That is 60times 30 weeks 1800 saved . That is a pretty good reason to go. If it doesnt work out we tried,. We will not be held hostage by an owner that tells us to give him our money and then tell us we owe him our information on our league. ,,,,When I stop seeing negative comments about bowlers that gave there say after being horribly as paying customers at Penndel then I will stop having to say anything negative about them

Comment Date: 4/26/2012 Name: Anonymous
oh and by the way it is still feedback about Penndel whether it is positive feedback or not

Comment Date: 4/25/2012 Name: Anonymous
to the monday night bowler. i really dont know what u mean by all hell beaking loose we will give the prize fund to any bowler in the league and u are probably right we could have given it to dave but when it came down to it he showed his true colors and i guess every thing happens for a reason. It just so happened that Bristol had lanes on our night and our time slot. I look at it as a gift right now. I will not dwell on the past I hope u will enjoy wherever u bowl and hope u dont have any bad feelings.

Comment Date: 4/25/2012 Name: ano
We had no different experience at bristol pike than at penndel. We went to bowl we weren't treated with respect. We were treated as potential customers. They should have been real kind to us if they want our money. The problem will be after the first season then what do you think will happen. Remember the golden rule where the grass is never always greener on the other side.

Comment Date: 4/25/2012 Name: Penndel Customer
Congrats women on a great experience at bristol but if you want to rant and rave about another center do it on their site note Penndel's. This site is for feedback on Penndel now Bristol. As a Penndel customer I come on here for feedback on the place I bowl at not a bunch of bitter people ripping a place, which they may have grounds for, and commenting on other centers. I actually left bristol to bowl at Penndel and I could not be happier. Better lane conditions and prices. I've seen an increase in my average and have seen much success at Penndel. So please, I do honestly come on here to get an idea of what Penndel's open bowling is like and if open bowling is treated the way league bowlers are, so if your going to rant about another center do us all a favor and go to their site. Don't waste your time on here and good luck at bristol. Your going to need it!

On behalf of the Belle Aire League I would like to express our thanks to Kelly and Pete and the rest of the staff at Bristol Pike Lanes for their friendly hospitality and for letting us have our Fun Nite at their facility. What a clean and nice place to bowl. It was also very nice to meet the AMF District Mgr. for Penna. and Maryland Mr. Gregg Nichols who wished us luck at Bristol Pike. He was well aware of all the problems and hassels we had had at Penndel which puts a bad mark on the sport of bowling. Once again, THANK YOU!!! Kelly and Pete for making our Fun Nite really special! See you in September.

Comment Date: 4/24/2012 Name: amon
I'm a bowler in the monday night league and I'm still not sure what happened that infamous night. I think this all stems from early march when all hell really broke loose. Nobody really but much thought into anything that happened but when it comes down to it why didn't all the officers get together and just turn over the paper. If they had nothing to hide then turn it over. The owner can't do anything about the money any way.

Comment Date: 4/24/2012 Name: party mom
Was just here for a party over the weekend and wow this place was great to our party! The place was so clean, probably one of the cleanest alleys I've been to in a while. The employees really took care of our party and treated us with care and respect. The party packages were a great price and the pizza was great! Only thing I wish the package offered was a bowling pin for the kids to sign, but for the price, I can handle not having a bowling pin. Thanks for everything, we will definitely be back!

were u looking in the mirror when u were saying immature u dont even have a clue as to why anyone posted their thoughts. and the last time i looked it is a free country so yes u can post immature comments and act like it is the rest of the world. Monday nite ladies was none of your business but i guess u need something to do

Comment Date: 4/21/2012 Name: Anonymous
Since you are no longer Penndel bowlers then there is no need to be commenting on this site anymore. Just stating exactly what you all are saying. You are saying you are happy to go to bristol and saying dave has not won this battle. Look how immature you all are being by just bashing this place. This place may s*ck but come on, just walk away, drop it, its over, you are going somewhere else to benefit your league. Good luck to all of you women leaving! I wish you all nothing but the best. I am a penndel league bowler and will always be one but I still wish all the league bowlers the best. Just drop it, what's done is done. Stop being so damn immature and blasting people over the internet. Pretty damn childish if you ask me.

This will be my last post about Penndel but I will get my word in to JOe First I said we vote on our prize fund by the first 5 weeks of bowling. I also said to your face that we hand out our bylaws the first week of bowling with all money breakdown. If you only hear what u feel convenient to hear that is not my problem. As far as getting new bowlers for our league. Ha Ha The house may have gotten us 10 bowlers in the last 10 years. We have alway filled our own league. When I spoke to JOe I told him there is nothing shady about our league. I also told him there was something shady about Dave taking our contract back and crossing out the need for us to give our prize fund and raising it another 50 cents over the 35 cents that he told us about. When he handed this contract to our President he failed to mention that he put that raise in,. Luckily our President caught it. Joe told me that Dave told her about it but he did not . USBC does not see any reason for the owner needing the prize fund either. Owners that need to control everyone in the universe will ruin bowling. For now I will hang in there and my head will be hung high. I am sure Dave's will be also because he thinks he won a battle that quite frankly I dont see was worth fighting. Obviously the Monday night ladies did. I am behind my league 100percent. I hope our relationship at Bristol Pike is better,. I really dont care about Penndel anymore

Comment Date: 4/20/2012 Name: Regina Watkins
Also we did not leave the center over nothing we did not have an acceptable contract and did not sign. We shopped around and go a better deal. That is a pretty good reason to me

Comment Date: 4/20/2012 Name: anon
I donít know any legitimate reason why Dave needs know. He doesnít collect or distribute our money. We are not a Penndel Bowling Center League we are our own League and we know where are money goes from the first week we start.

Comment Date: 4/20/2012 Name: Regina h
I know for a fact that no one from belle air Monday nights was going to Dave for help or questions about anything. That is what officers are for. Even if there was something wrong with the lanes or machines our bowlers would go to the officers for assistance.. The league survived 44 years without the houses help so why do people assume we need Dave's help to fill teams? I think it's more shady that he wants our info so bad.. All the info he needs is what we pay him! It's a principle thing and if you don't understand that then good luck in life

Comment Date: 4/20/2012 Name: Monday Nite Bowler
This comment is directed to Joe. It's a shame you weren't there and are only hearing one side of the story. The league asked for an explanation to the necessity of giving the center a prize list and the reasons you are stating were NEVER brought up. The attitude the owner came into the meeting with was disgraceful and certainly not one of willingness to work out a compromise. Negotiating is an important part of running a business. He needs some help along those lines and also help with his people skills in general. When we entered the meeting our intent was not to leave Penndel but instead to work things out. His immediate attitude of take it or leave it is what made us walk. And then there's the outside food issue. That goes a little too far. Our team brought in a birthday cake for someone's birthday and even though we understood that that was an acceptable "outside food", we were told about it. (Penndel doesn't sell birthday cakes anyway! They are not losing business and we are not trashing the place with our cake.) The league has nothing to hide about its funds and every team in the league was given a prize money / expense breakdown. Why does anyone else need to know? Should we also provide the center with a copy of the meal choices for our banquet in case someone's interested in joining the league and wants to make sure they like what's offered? We have a meeting prior to bowling each and every year at which potential new girls can find out whatever they want. They don't need the owner to help them.

Actually Joe your a nice guy and it's really none of your business and you shouldn't have been told anything about our leagues contract. Your just a guy who has a Pro Shop in Dave's building.

Dave the owner did not run u out of the bowling center. U chose to leave because u didn't sign a contract showing where all your money was being distributed or not distributed. Facts r facts. I've asked a lot of people their feelings n EVERYONE says its shady. I still can't grasp the big secret if there is nothing to hide, really. Dave just wants to show His customers what they r buying into and you don't agree in doing so. Hard to sell new bowlers to join a secret prizefund league, all im saying.

Danielle and Regina pretty much said it all. But I would just like to say that the owner Dave is the most ignorant, smug, immature person I ever met and after reading a lot of the comments all the way back to 2009 I canít believe he still has the business. He came into that meeting with the intention of pushing us out the door and for that I would like to say thank you. I went and checked out Bristol Pike lanes and ladies itís a whole new world. No more getting tables & chairs because thereís not enough room, no more fruit flies, no more trying to read the screens, no more writing down scores all computerized. Oh and Dave just wanted to let you know that the drama decided to stay with you on Monday night. Good Luck with that. Anyone else that writing comments please donít forget to rate this lane (above).

Not trying to get involved in all of this, but, the monday night mens league that is continuously being referred to knew from day 1 what their prize breakdown was. Their prize breakdown was on the league sign up sheet that they had to sign up on. So I dont know why everyone is up in arms about this mon night mens league when they signed a sheet that had the breakdown on it! The extra money used in the mon night 50/50s was put towards their prize fund and the men were told about that in the beginning. I do not know what happened in the mon night ladies league, and i honestly chose not to know, but what I do know is that if the men had a question about the prize fund then why werent questions raised from the beginning? Why are questions being asked now? All you need to do is request a copy of the league prize fund breakdown and the mon men will get it. All you do is add in the extra 50/50 money for the year and then you add it into the already set prize fund breakdown and that equals more money gained for the men. I dont know any of you women, and I do wish you much luck for your future bowling where ever it may be. I just wanted you all to understand the mon night men have a set prize fund breakdown just like your league does and it was on their sign up sheet from day 1! Good luck ladies. Sorry I had to get my point across in regards to the mon night league.

Wow.. Reading all these comments can confuse bowlers.. I bowl in another bowling center where the house runs the league.. There is no problem with the house having a copy to your prize fund.. What happends if they are trying to get bowlers to fill out the league. Having as much info for a league the owner can generate more business. I know dave and he is at times difficult to get a long with. But hes trying to make his business better. And for people who think that in the worst case scenerio that penndel goes under you would lose your money if he ran the leagues are crazy.. Thats why most leagues are bonded when you sanction!! I just honestly think cause of the attitude of "bowlers" lately has ruined the sport.. All i see is pretty much the bowlers quitting a center over nothing!

I missed this whole fiasco while competing in the PBA tournament of champions. When I got back i was told that all leagues received their contracts and signed cept the monday night womens. I wondered to myself, what's the reason...what is there to hide? As a person in the bowling center, who would like to recruit new bowlers to their league, I found it hard if i can't describe the payment per week n return. I believe that if 2 new bowlers walk in n want to join a league either mon or wed n they only see a description of their 36wk commitment for wed then they probably aren't going to join monday. I was told from their league officer that that by wk 5 of the league season they can see their payout. That's ridiculous. I or anyone would not join a 36wk commitment in hope that the suggested or projected payout is what i have hoped for. Dave, the owner just wants ALL his leagues to be better and on the up n up. If a bowler has a problem in a league they usually talk to the owner or person in charge. They ask me sometimes, I'm just the proshop. Usually not to start poor feelings amongst their fellow league bowlers when asking about league rules or payouts this occurs. I do not know of any legitimate reason to not show a's not like the bowling center is holdin the money...the treasurer still does. Petty and unfortunate describes the whole situation.

By the way we are not the only league that the owner has run out of penndel

Comment Date: 4/18/2012 Name: Regina Watkins
To the Friday night mixed league bowler that commented that monday ladies league has something to hide. We have nothing to hide at all, It was not just the officers that did not want to sign it was almost the whole league. We did not sign for a few reasons. Principle, The reason we were given was because of the uncooperative treasure of the friday night mixed league was very unapproachable and a league member wanted to know what their prizes were, Not a good reason to us We checked all the other houses in the area and they do not require that a league give their prize fund. I feel that the leagues are here to bowl also and we do complain about lousy lane conditions and we dont come here to talk to the owner,. We rent his lanes for three hours a night and pay him well. We are a sanctioned league and have officers to handle our league problems and quite frankly it is none of the owners business. Our league has been in existence for 44 years and has bowlers still bowling in it from 30 years ago and has many newer bowlers 10 years and some for three years. This was a new thing in our contract. We questioned it and we got no good answer except of the friday night mixed league. As I mentioned before if the treasurer in my league which is me ran off with the money would the owner be responsible. No and he would be the first to tell us that. Stay out of the leagues business. I realize that he has a business to run. Run his business. He wants the monies from our league in his bank account,. What happens when he goes under, Just a question. From what I understand he has something to hide because there are leagues in there that still dont know what their prize fund is and the breakdown of prizes,. My league knows from the first week of bowling. This is the last week for a lot of leagues and they still dont know,. I have never had a problem with the staff and never said I did. I have a problem with the way things were handled. That is my perogative,. It is also the feelings of most of our league members, I represent the league not Penndel bowling center.

Sent from my Verizon Wireless Phone I have been bowling at Penndel since I was 4 years old. Growing up bowling there I realize it wasn't always the best looking alley and didn't always have cool things like a kitchen and bar or even a great pro shop. So somethings have improved and I won't deny that. So yes the new owner came in and renovated and upgraded the look, brought some new things to the place. I just feel like it takes more than just changing the look or adding new things to make the place worthwhile. I mean I can sit here and go down the list of things that are wrong with the place, I mean all the little cosmetic things, but I see that people have already posted about them. However I have not felt compelled to come on here for those reasons. The reason I am writing today is because last week was the first time that a league of 44 years had to make the decision to break ties with their house after so long. The owner wanted to see a copy of the prize fund, for what reasons I have no idea. The league did not understand the request either so naturally things escalated. The league has never hid the prize fund from anyone of the bowlers. In fact the prize fund is voted on in the beginning of the season every year. In response to there unwillingness to just hand over the prize fund layout the chosen employee who was given the task of confronting the league had notified the owner who did not feel was necessary for himself to address the contract changes in the first place. He then pages over the intercom for the ladies in the league who have questions that he will be in the bar and will be willing to answer their questions. At this time a majority of the league entered the bar. He asked for a spokesperson, the league chose our president who then opened the table for questions. They asked if he could just put in the contract that he is not responsible for our prize fund and that he would not be held accountable for anything that involves the prize fund to protect both him and the league. (Which has officers in place to protect it) He would not budge and said that's not how he does business. (Which the league has presided in these lanes under his management for the past 8 years.) When it became evident that he would not negotiate he ended the meeting by stating something along the lines of have fun at Bristol. At that point the bowlers walked out. Please keep in mind some of the husbands bowl on the other side of the alley in a house league. And not once have the bowlers been given a layout of their prize fund. To add to the story the owner had an employee hand out new flyers that he had printed immediately about a new women's league starting on Monday nights. Childish things added to it such as (NO OFFICERS or NO DRAMA) were advertised on this flyer. It became evident that the 8 years of patronage this league gave him meant nothing. They were there through the thick of it. They were there through all of the changes good and bad. And not only that, before he took over they had already been there for 36 years. And now a league that has Bowled in Penndel for 44 years, has no option but to cut ties with the alley. It's a shame. The whole thing was handled poorly. I wish the lanes and some of them employees the best of luck. And to the all the woman in the Monday night league I wish you all the best of luck at Bristol! Sometimes change is necessary and this time it'll be good.

Love how its only one league complaining about this contract. Our league signed the same exact contract and so did all of the other leagues and no one had a problem with it, so why would this one particular league have a problem with this? Id say something they have something to hide. If you didn't have something to hide then this wouldn't be such an issue. Well now to my comments, penndel is really coming around. My average is up well over 10 pins. While the shot hasn't been consistent the last 3 fridays and have been difficult to find a line I still love this place and wouldn't go anywhere else. The staff is wonderful always. So welcoming and inviting. I don't know the owner very well but I don't go there to see or speak with him, I go there to bowl so I couldn't give a crap if he is miserable all the time or never there, as long as the product is good, which it is! My only complaint would be how the shot has been so crappy lately for our league. Other than that, food, cleanliness, staff, has been great.

I could tell you there's a lot of problems with this owner, and he'll be missing his money. I am actually a 10-year old boy,and I know THAT much about life. You treat the league disrespectfully and also your employees don't care about it. Not a future bowler at YOUR house :/ .

all i can say is are u kidding. obviously u are one of the negative bowlers that we have been putting up with all year. the bathroom has been broken more than once and has been for years. u want to give control to these owners to take care of your money and people i know bowling dont even know how their money is being broke down or where the money is going in a league ran by the house. what happens when this house goes under by some chance to the monies then. the girls in belle aire league are given a breakdown the first week of bowling with their bylaws there is no secrect to any league member. really i could care less what u think or the owner knows or thinks he needs to know this is non of his business. if the treasurer ran off with the money and u went to him he will tell u it is not his problem that it is your leagues. we dont require that he show us how much he is charging everyone else or his prize fund breakdown because it is non of our business. all i can say is who said how great things are is full of it. as for the chairs that we set up every week it would have been nice if they were set up already./ there not

They do not treat there customers with respect, were you in that meeting? i dont think you were since you are the one who said no drama should be put on that new flyer they printed up. that initself was disrespectful. In time that place will fail for the way the owner speaks as if he is the high and mighty. When you send your counter girl to meet with the leauge on something he is responsiable for, is poor judgment. the countergirl can not make dissions on waht goes on or she would be the owner, and to be frank she may do a better job at it.

just a note to say that if bowlers took as much time trashing the monday nite belle aire league as they do' if they took the time to actually read the bylaws and rules maybe they wouldn't be talking out their butts. prize lists were distributed in october and voted on by each team.Do you know how to read??? Obviously it was more important to create trouble than know the facts. Our leagues reputation has survived for over forty years. We must have been doing something right. I have never in my life dealt with such a moron for a business owner who would rather lose $20,000 a season over a piece of paper.

Sad how these women have to come on here and bash a place who has been faithful to them. I am one of the mon night ladies bowlers and what they are saying is not true. Yes we were told to sign or go. But we were not pushed out the door. We were asked to sign the same contract as all of the other leagues and most of us felt we shouldn't have to sign that. I was one who didn't really care. I feel if you have nothing to hide then cough up the prize list and give it to the owner and be done with it. My experience at penndel has been for the most part positive. Yes we did have some bad lane breakdowns but I seem to recall seeing the owner barreling into the door and running behind the lanes to fix it. The bathroom had a leak problem ONE time! It wasn't a regular thing. These things these women are talking about do not occur on a regular basis. Penndel and the owner and employees, you have been more than accomodating for this league. Always putting out extra chairs and tables for us, which I can't see bristol doing for us. Keep up the good work Penndel. Don't let these negative women put you down. They obviously have nothing better to do with their time but to come on here and bash you.

I was glad to see the rebuttal from this site to the owner obviously. The way he remarks on this site shows his true colors. I have seen him talk distastefully to his employers to say the least and putting it a lot nicer than he would. I also saw a comment saying that nobody had the balls to come in and talk to him as he sits behind a anon name I will tell who I am after this week and I am not afraid of a bully

A little futher bashing of penndel lanes. A big problem is their parking lot across the street. It is deplorable and I make sure I got there early enough so I wouldnt have to park over there. It is definitely a safety issue crossing there with no caution light to slow people down. About the great line the back to back bowler said he bowled 244 twice in a row.Great for him I am sorry to say that is a hit or miss situation at this house. I do think they are stingy with their oil also, I noticed in April of last year that someone suggested something healthy for the bowlers in the snack stand being that they cannot eat their own food. I had also made this suggestion in a meeting with the staff. I thought maybe it was an original idea and we would see some changes,. I guess that was just wishful thinking. I do hope when the owner reads this that maybe he really will improve where things are really needed.

Comment Date: 4/10/2012 Name: Anonymous
total disappointmet since this new owner has taken over I have seen nothing but downhill. Yes he has made some improvements. Probably the bar and food area would be his best,. That being said I have bowled since I was 18 in many different houses and leagues. I have helped coach bowling to the junior leagues. I bowl in one of the last womens leagues with 60 girls which we have maintained for many years. Many years. We have been in this house for the endurance. Circumstances mainly caused by the owner have caused us to move to another house./ This is no sweat off of my back or most of the members. He has treated our league with total disrespect and indifference. I am looking foward to bowling in a new house. We probably won't have to get our own chairs and tables and set them up in the beginning of the night./ We probably wont have to take care of all monitor issues and problems ourselves. We may even get to go to the bathroom without having it closed or leaking. Maybe we will not have to smell mold half of the time coming from the ball returns. Maybe they will have more than one pin chaser or mechanic on duty to deal with the problems with a house of 120 bowlers in a set. I am glad to get a chance to see the other houses and the way they are run. I even hear that u get a discount if u are a member of the league at the snack stand where we are going. I hope that all of u new bowlers have a better experience than our league of 42 years. I feel that this was a sad day in the bowling world and I can only imagine that it will get worse in this house that we are leaving.

Well I wish I had nothing but good things to say about penndel lanes since I have bowled there most of my life but nothing comes to mind. Our league( which has bowled there for the last 44 years) was recently pushed out the door by the owner because we did not want to give him access to our leagues prize fund! He had no GOOD reason to demand it. When we said no to his request he tried to raise our rates an additional amount more then what he already quoted us. No problem packing up and moving to a new house .. Who knows maybe our new houses lanes will actually function without needing manual mechanical assistance every other frame. And maybe the ball return won't stink of mold and who knows maybe the owner won't be completely disrespectful to loyal customers!

I have to say, while I spent most of my years bowling in NJ (Curtis lanes, Slocum's, Colonial...etc) I bowled here in the mid 90's and absolutely HATED it, they had an aversion to oil back then. However, now living in PA I needed to find a "home" house as I get back into the sport after about 15 years I have bowled here more than a few times lately. The turnaround here is nothing short of incredible. The place is clean, the lanes and machines are well kept, scorers could use a little tech support for the displays tho, the prices are good (DOLLAR NIGHTS Tue and Wed after 9PM....NICE!!!!!) and the staff is friendly and accomodating. The pro shop is nice with a good selection for the beginner all the way up to the super serious bowler. Regional PBA Pro Joe Paluszek is a really nice guy who was quite patient with my wife while picking out a ball and weight as well as doing a great job on the drill. The package deal he gave was great for the money too. Real nice guy. The house shot there is good, but I think may be a little too forgiving with good equipment, or I'm just getting better at Last weekend I shot back to back 244s. I will be back here often. Think I found my PA "HOME".

The whole place smells of mold. Manager seems not to care about the alley's reputation and he treats his employees like crap. He has also been seen by many bowlers to be drinking on the job. I am definitely not returning. It's a shame, too. In my opinion, it needs to be either managed the proper way or shut down.

Love how all of these complaints are on the Internet but being a worker there no one ever complains directly to me and if there are complaints I take them and they get taken into consideration by the owner and manager. Just give this place some time. It's getting there. Every place has it's positives and negatives just look at how much the owner has put into this place to bring it up from the bottom. Cut him some slack. He does a lot to please the customers, sadly though customers aren't there when he is there til 3am busting his butt to make the place better for his customers.

I did not know drinking was aloud on the job. That says allot about a place to have a drunk running it. No wonder y all I hear is bad things about that place

I was at the bowling center on a Tuesday bowling with friends and I noticed a bigger lady talking down to her employees. That was a horrible thing to see. You should talk to your employees with more respect then this lady did. I feel like both of the boses are real *h*l*s and should treat their employees with more respect it was uncalled for and I will not be returning. I would advice any of you to do the same, I don't wanna give my money to rude people. Those poor employees.

Today we lost one of the best friends a bowler in our area could have and one of the nicest human beings I have ever had the privilege to know. Al was not only the best coach the Neshaminy boys bowling team ever had, but, he championed his love of the sport by coaching and running junior leagues for many years that produced quite a number of the Neshaminy bowling stars both on the boys and the girls team. I was fortunate enough to have this wonderful man develop and nuture my daughters love of the sport and I can never thank him enough. My heart is aching today that I will not hear his cheerful hellos and his warm and loving manner. My deepest sympathy to his lovely wife and his entire family. Al will be missed but will also be remembered with smiles. God Bless Al Moss. We love you.

May 1st 2011, it's been 5 years at Penndel Bowling Center that Joe's Pro Shop has been in business. Whether it be drilling, equipment, lessons or just helping others become better bowlers in general, it's been great. Just wanted to say thanks to all who have helped me stay a competitive professional bowler and a bowling professional during these 1st 5 years...many more to come.

I was very unhappy 2 weeks ago when I was bowling on my Wednesday night league and overheard the bartender talking about the cook. There is no need for that. And on top of that she started speaking about her again and non tippers. Its very unfortunate she is part of such a wonderful staff.

Hate to say this but the b*tch bartender is needs to be nice and shut her mouth and stop talking about people. All she does is sit there feeds her friends drinks. I wounder if she charges them for the drinks.I order the same food every friday nite and one week it cost$17.00 and the next time its 24.00.:Hello no show on ower I wounder why he doesn't want to hear it.not good customer service remember the customer is always right and without customer that palce is closed.

I ordered 2 cheeseburgers and an iced tea on Friday night. I asked for raw onions on one of the cheeseburgers. I gave the bartender a $20. She handed me a $5 and 5 ones and a quarter back. I looked at the money and was a little surprised. I questioned John about it. He didn"t know why. He asked the bartender. She said she charged for the raw onions. She always charges for them. I got charged $1.00 for raw onions! on 1 hamburger. They don't charge during the week. Is this how she makes her money by ripping off the people that bowl there? This is a TOTAL DISGRACE. I wouldn't mind paying a quarter for them but a dollar!! and it should be on the menu if there is a charge for extras. I'M DISGUSTED.

I have bowled in a sanctioned fall league at Penndel since 2006 and have seen many improvements. First, the atmosphere...a ton cleaner, and of course the new synthetic lanes. Secondly, the bowling store...Joe is always there to help me out. Thirdly, the lane conditions...consistency and a more scoreable condition is there when i bowl Tuesdays week in and week out. Our league bowler's averages have jumped more than 10 pins on average. I remember this place ten years ago and other than the "wood" approaches that i never have a problem, unlike synthetics at other centers, i have seen a ton of improvements made. Keep up the good work people.

Yes, ANON! We know you are Dave. No one talks to you because all you do is scream and you don't listen. You are the worst boss in the world to your employees, you treat your customers like crap, and I wouldn't ask you for the time of day even if my life depended on it, let alone discuss an issue with you. You are scum.

Comment Date: 1/29/2010 Name: Anon.
Go to penndels website, theres an email on there where you can talk directly to the owner. If there are all these problems just email him if you feel you cant approach him in person. Complaining on here obviously isnt getting anyone anywhere. Just voice your complaints to him, if he chooses to ignore your complaints then leave. Its plain and simple. I am a bowler there and I really like the staff there and the lane conditions are tough, but it just makes me a better bowler. Im sure the owner isnt as bad as everyone says, just email him.

Comment Date: 1/17/2010 Name: #1 customer
Hey ANON, we all know you are Dave! Why threaten the few loyal customers you have left by asking if they "are afraid to" talk to you? We don't bother to talk to you because you clearly don't listen. You are a drunken lunatic who wouldn't know how to run a center if you had the manual. As for what an earlier poster wrote, it's true: the vision has been lost.

Well The lanes are tough. i have a 200 avg and when i go there it drops by ten. it is very hard to get used to there lanes. you get on a roll and after like 3 in a row you will leave a ten pin or some crazy pin. it is just pendel...that says it all

Comment Date: 10/28/2009 Name: itiswhatitis
RE: the person who commented on the persistance of the burning oil smell. Verily, the principles behind correcting that issue are the same that allow for the continued use of "buckets as a roof patch" season after season. A lot of change for the better had been occurring but has seemingly stalled. At any rate, your "smell" persists and the number of buckets grows. I add my point to yours because the two are really unrelated to my scores but contribute to a shabby atmosphere that is understandable initially and later, when nothing changes, baffling at best. The center is still better than what it had become under old ownership but it occurs to me that either the money or the vision has expired.

Most of the employees through here give that job everything they have and then some! 150%!! And Dave (the owner) as far as him being miserable...give him a break ..put your shoes on his feet every week he deals with hundred of people and some not happy! Imagine getting yelled at everytime you walk into your's gotta get old sometimes, ya know! And for Pro shop Joe...that guy is NEVER miserable!! One of the most professional people I know! Great guy and an awesome bowler!! Anyone interested in lessons...he is your man!! Instead of all of the negativity, why don't you tell the owner what and who you like at Penndel in addition to what you don't like? Every place has its good things and bad things. You never know, he might just see this. As for the complaints about lane conditions, I would like to remind everyone that Penndel is the home lanes of the Suburban One League champion Neshaminy Boys' bowling team led by the wonderful Al Moss, and the Suburban One League champion Neshaminy Girls' bowling team for 6 straight years, led by the wonderful Joan Wargo. Penndel has to be doing something right, don't you agree? And Joe is the real deal. My daughter has had lessons from him and he is right on.

the new girl behind the counter needs to learn some class. all she does is smoke all the time and doesnt do anything for penndel. we really miss the woman who used to work behind the counter. the new girl really needs to geta crash course in how to run a bowling alley counter because she doesnt know anything. it isnt fair to us bowlers that we have to wait for her to do her job because shes too busy smoking and watching tv. Fire her or make her do her job before people start leaving.

Lanes break everywhere you go, get over it Penndel is all mechanics not electric, and plus penndel is a smaller house than brunswick so its much easier to move people there than at penndel. I had a lane break at brunswick on a midnight bowling night and had to wait 30 min for a fix, so no one has any room to talk and say penndel needs to fix there {deleted} cuz everywhere you go theres problems. wow all u haters towards penndel lanes needs to get off this site and take your negative comments else where because it sure does not belong towards this place. i been bowling here since i was 10 and i am now 17. people who don't know how to do math. its been 7 years and with in those 7 years it has changed greatly and not for the worse but for the better. the bathrooms, staff, lane conditions, pro center, pub, and most importanly the consumers have improved. this place is like my second home. its run on a personal level which is good thing because the consumers can relate to the staff. i also bowl on the high school team, so i bowl on all the lanes including brunswick. now i'm not going to dis brunswick but just saying that penndel is still better than them....

Comment Date: 4/23/2008 Name: Mike Patterson
Since there are a lot of negative comments being exchanged, I am going the extra mile to write a story. I went to bowling once at a league at my school. There was a mom who I'm great friends with who was sitting in her car with a big Black Labrador. It was about 100 degrees out and that poor thing was hot. When we asked the owner let the dog come into his establishment and sit down in the airconditioning. He even went and got a bowl of water for the poor thing and kept checking in to make sure that the owner of the dog was happy. If that is not customer loyalty I don't know what is.

And one more thing, look at the comment made by "Ian Kennidy". After seeing the prejudice that was writtin in those sentences, I WILL NEVER go back to Brunswick Zone again. It has tainted my view of Brunswick Zone alltogeher. I hate to sound like a "Tattoed Smoker", (I guess thats what his perception of me must be) but if America gets rid of all the mom and pop businesses then we can kiss customer service goodbye alltogether. I will stand by my bowling lanes and say that all are welcome there as long as you are kind and respectful. The choice is up to you, but that comment makes me think what the managers & workers are thinking when you ask for a lane. Bruswick Zone is a K-Mart of Bowling Centers. Its basically a big box mart. If you want a bowling expierince go to Penndel. (that I fear will be gone one day with mom and pop stores)I hate to point fingers, but "Ian Kennidy"'s comment really speaks to me in a negative way.

Yeah, I agree with anon. This guy freaks on customers when he's drunk(which is a lot, hell the guy owns a bar!). He needs lessons in customer service. This place has gone down hill for about a year. I guess the guy that left was the customer service guy. He was so cool and always knew his stuff on the lanes. I'm a young lane guy somewhere else and he always answered my questions about mechanical stuff on the lanes. Wish he would come back...

i went to pendell for one of the dollar bowling nights and was placed in a lane next to a bunch of smokers...who had effectively taken over the entire bowling area. none of the friends i was with smoked so we asked to be moved to another lane...just one away so that didn't have to be bombarded with smoke... we were told no. the attendant said he has to do it in order... the place was by no means packed and the lanes to the left of us remained open for the rest of the night, any time i've asked to be moved at brunswick its been no problem as long as theres a lane open that being said i'll still go to either one as long as there are dollar bowling nights

Penndel is a great bowling place. Its never crowded and filled with younger kid's birthday parties like Brunswick Zone is. Its quiet and easy to focus on bowling. My school has a intermural sports league there and every one is always friendly. The lanes are real wood and not fake synthetic which I perfer because they have a little more grip. The pro is also very nice and knows what he is talking about. His shop is a great place also to pick up any new bowling supplies. Once and a while there are a few smokers in there, but most of the time there aren't. If you are next to a smoker and want to move I'm sure that they would let you. Go ask one of those snotty teenage attendants at Brunswick Zone to do that. I come here with my friends all the time and my parents are comfortable enough with the managers. Overall this place is a great family bowling center where you can almost always get a lane and you will have a great time. I will never go back to Brunswick Zone again after coming to Pendell Bowling Center!

Hey! Whoever wrote that stuff Joe Paluszek must be some sort of angry sore loser. I know him personally. Had a few lessons from the guy. He would not say that about Penndel lanes. Plus, whoever wrote that didn't even spell his name correctly. Give me a break!

Owner can be rude and lanes need repair in returning balls. Dollar Bowling is great (Tues 7-12 and Wed 9-12.) Fun atmosphere.

Brunswick is much better, go there if you arent a tattoed smoker with a drug problem. Otherwise, stay at penndel, we at brunswick dont want your kind.

They've made so many improvements to this place. I'm now 18 years old and I've been going there almost every week since I was 11 or 12. They're still making improvements and the owners are awesome. The leagues are great. Definitely worth going there for an awesome night.

Wow I have just bowled at Penndel Lanes again for the first time in 6 years and the lane condition is the best it has ever been, so good I signed up for a league for this fall. The new owners have really improved the entire center. New bar, good food and new leagues for the big scratch bowlers and big money. I hear they bowl pot games on Tuesday with a local regional pro, I going to try my hand at him tonight. If you have not been back to Penndel in awhile like me, you need to try it out.

The new bar/restaurant is Penny Lanes (creatively named after the owners wife, Penny). The food's great and prices are even better. It's a nice family place where you can have a beer with friends or bowl with the kids, or do both! Do yourself a favor and stop by. Sundays are nice and quiet, so try then...

This place rocks!!! They have made so many improvements in the past year that if you haven't been by lately you need to go. They just opened a bar with the best cheese steaks in the world. Their wings and chicken strips rock too. The prices are very reasonable too. We usually go in on Sundays to watch the Eagles games. Great atmosphere too.
