aug 21st 2009 this comment is towards anyone who has not bowled at skyline lanes.we have new synthetic lanes and lane machine we had 15 300s and 18 800s last year. and more 299s and 298s than you would believe. Also first time ever we had a bowler roll a 300-300-203=803 on sat nite league.back to back 300s and a 800 series.so come to skyline lanes and give it a try.

I'm a regular league bowler here at Skyline. Although the equipment and lanes are as old as I am, they are surprisingly mechanically sound and are well kept. Management sometimes tries to be too fancy with the shot and it becomes inconsistent from week to week. But I enjoy it because it keeps you on your game. But, over the past 5 years I have watched many of my fellow league bowlers leave the association and stop bowling completely in disgust of how they were treated and how business was run. The owner and manager are non-bowlers and seem to not care about league bowlers or what happens in the association. The staff (including management and owner) is just there because it's their "job". There is no passion or love for the sport in any of their hearts. I think it's the only bowling "Alley" that closes its doors before 10:00pm 5 days out of the week, and it's the only house within an hour in any direction of Gallipolis, OH. When my dad started my brother and I in Jr. league, every one of the 24 lanes were full. Now they're lucky to get 24 kids total. It's a shame to sit and watch a great American sport get locked out of the hearts of our youth, and s*cked out of the hearts of the old.
