Apache lanes closed for business may 31,2009 after almost 48 years. What a shame. all the old good centers gone. Apache, country club, melrose, wagon wheel, maricopa, thunderbird, sho lo, tempe, papago. you guys remember those centers? I almost forgot green gables and kachina lanes.

I worked there for about a year & a 1/2. I worked from 1997-1998 or so. I had a lot of fun & meet some great people. RIP Terrell Pendelton

This is a really old house. Surprised it's still around. I think it used to be a Brunswick. Decent staff, lanes can be hit or miss, but they seem pretty good recently. Always a minimal number of staff in the place, but they all seem cross-trained to work every position. Some things take a little bit longer to get done. I don't know if it's a good thing or bad thing. I'm fine with the front desk guys bartending, but was a little concerned when I saw the mechanic cooking. There are also days when it seems like there is a one man show... one staff member running the lanes, the desk, the kitchen and the bar, with some support from a manager. Weekend nights tend to have a full staff though. Long story short, it's old, but still a good place to bowl.

I recently visited Apache Lanes and found out that they have a new head mechanic and he has all 24 lanes up and running. Wow!!! What a change from 6 months ago.
